ok..one question about contacting the retail park itself "TELFORD BRIDGE RETAIL PARK IS MANAGED BY M J MAPP RETAIL"
    Sam Gifford
    Facilities Manager
    Tel: 07880 385780
    Email: samuel.gifford@mjmapp.com"

i'll send an email and talk about my situation with regards to the car being serviced and thats why i had parked my car there to leave it with halfords but if i do that and then send this appeal letter talking about not being able to see the sign ...won't i be giving 2 different reason for this charge notice to be cancelled?

Technically, if you passed the car to Halfords to fix it - and you will have a receipt to prove that plus a copy of your debit card/credit card that can prove the time you paid, then Halford were the keeper at the time.

In this case, I would name them as the driver and forget about a template appeal. Obviously state the circumstances.

Surely they'd have given you a (timed) printed till receipt when you handed over your cash wedge?

Nope, i checked but there is no time. I got a bill and not a receipt.

So what do i say to the facilitator of the retail park? Do i tell him about the car being sent for repairs and thats why i had parked my car there to leave it with halfords but if i do that and then send this appeal letter talking about not being able to see the sign ...won't i be giving 2 different reason for this charge notice to be cancelled?

what do i do? cos i think i need to stick to the same story. Also i may have misunderstood the reason for not disclosing the driver details.

I take it you handed your keys to Halfords? Then it was obviously a business transctation and you have a dated receipt to prove it.

Surely Halfords will back this up?

On what you have written, with the proof of your story being genuine, hopefully backed up by Halfords, I would not appeal at all. I would write that, as Registered Keeper, the keeper at the time in question was Halfords who trade on that site. I would enclose a copy of your receipt and suggest they pursure the keeper/driver of the day.

I would not use a standard forum appeal in your case. This is, of course, an opinion based upon what you have written.

So your suggesting not to use the blue template appeal letter that is in the newbies page but send the appeal saying at the time of this ticket i was not the keeper/driver but halfords was as i left my car with them to fix issues with my car. Is that correct?

Can i get an opinion of other members here, whether what Guys Dad is suggesting is the best way for me to appeal this ticket? What would you recommend as you guys have more experience in these kind of situations?

I would combine the two. I would use the template but state as a fact that:

In fact I was not in charge of the vehicle and was not the keeper/driver - Halfords was, as they had the car and car keys for the purpose of fixing issues with my car.

NOT YOUR WORDS! YOU SAID ABOVE: ''as i left my car with them'' NO!! THAT SUGGESTS WHO PARKED IT!!

My son had a similar thing with Halfords at Ravenside Retail Park, Birmingham, B24. It was UKPC.

Halfords put the car on the car park when they had finished it - Ist photo time 12.04. Second photo 18.52. He couldn't collect his car until after work when OH picked him up and took him there.

PCN in the post 2 weeks later - rang Halfords and they took the PCN No. and got it cancelled. Don't think it was the first time that they had had to do it.

    Hi all,

i just went and spoke to the guys at halfords and they said that i am not the only perso to receive these tickets and said they had lots of customer come in with them. They took a copy of my ticket and took down my details. They said they will send all the copies to head office who will contact the ticket people to get it cancelled. The guy i spoke to said to ignore the tickets and not to respond/appeal it as they will get it sorted and keep me updated.

He said that the parking people came out of the blue, put some camera's up and never told anyone and now we have lots of customers that have tickets. They said that they will look to sue the parking people about this.
