Simple solution to get your money back next year. Put a tender in for the contract to cut the grass.
Is cutting the grass the whole job though?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Why do the Housing Association care if it's expensive when they can pass the charge on to others while maybe getting a kick-back or 2?0 -

Is cutting the grass the whole job though?[/QUOTE]It only says for grass cutting and for management charge for provision of services. A women I work with has to pay £2 a week for the grass to be cut but she doesn't know where they cut it because the grass on her road is cut by the council.0 -
Well then why don't you buy your house so then you won't have to pay for the grass cutting!. You also won't be throwing your money away each week in rent, instead you can be paying a mortgage and own the house!.
Hang on, if we are assuming money is no object then why buy the house he's in now? Why not buy a 500-acre estate in Surrey and hire a team of gardeners to cut the grass?0 -
I pay my Housing Association a service charge, which covers grass-cutting, leaf-blowing of pavements and roads, hedge-maintenance, etc. And, yes, I am happy to pay it. I don't want to live somewhere that looks filthy, neglected and run-down.
It doesn't matter to me one bit what my neighbours might or not pay.
If you feel so strongly about it Burtons, maybe you could move to another property and let the HA rehome someone who is less distressed by the service charge?0 -

What a stupid comparison!. Considering they are already paying rent then paying a Mortgage instead isn't exactly difficult!. The only difference is saving up a deposit which with a bit of determination and budgeting most people could do it.0 -

The OP started this thread to complain about paying for grass cutting as part of their rent.
So i doubt they would be complaining about it if they were receiving Housing Benefit and not even paying the rent!.0 -

You are aware housing benefit doesn't necessarily cover your entire rent?0
