Not a lot wrong with Xiaomi Note 3, does she want a 5.5" or would the Redmi 4 Pro at 5" be an option? Only issue being no band 20/800mhz.

I'd recommend Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. Love it so far.

Posted already, just need to check bands on(in) there and actual quality of Xiaomi (per £ spent) almost always going to give you better buy...

Bday = 16 April... Can we do a whip round?

My phone is great but camera could be better. The Redmi Note 4 looks interesting so will check it out and Im also looking at the Xiaomi Mi5 which is around £200.

NiftyDigits, Ive never heard of UMi, do you have any experience of using one?

I have a UMI Super and it's been and still is an excellent phone. Very good specification for the money. It's just updated from Android 6 to 7 by the manufacturer.
Purchased it from China at an enormous saving on U.K. price. I did use an optional tracked (PostNL) service and paid a bit extra for insurance. I've also bought other items from the same seller and had no problems whatsoever with regards delivery reliability.

I would like to recommend the oneplus 3t £400 bought direct they have their own phone insurance which is cheap also
or via O2 for an extra £20 - 30
it is a serious flagship killer my son has one and he loves it, Tons better than the S7 and whatever the I phone is up to now a days
It is a lovely phone sleek and slender if you do decide on one DONT get the case from them there is a guy on fleabay (flexfirm) that is authorised to sell Orzly case's ETC and they are really nice and you can feel the quality
I am a Samsung person and if I could afford it the 3t would be my next baby
