If anyone could help I would really appreciate it just to finalise this re what I wrote above?

When I spoke to him the other day he told me hes already re painted the flat surely he should at least wait until the dispute is finalsed?

I can understand the landlord wanting to get the property ship-shape sooner rather than later as he will want it ready for the next set of tenants to minimise the void period. As long as the landlord can provide evidence demonstrating the condition of the property at the start of your tenancy and the end of your tenancy then it doesn't matter what he does to the property after you move out.
If you or the other tenant dispute the landlord's deductions then negotiate with him. Ask him for a breakdown of costs, it's not an unreasonable request.
Meanwhile you, or more likely the lead tenant whose name the deposit is registered under, should login to the deposit scheme and make a claim because if you do nothing the landlord could be awarded your full or a large proportion of your deposit.0 -

Basically now the agents are charging us another fee for the checkout people as they couldnt get into the property so £75 plus the £90 for the locksmith. The landlord has said he would waiver this and the total we have to pay is £1000 from a depoist of around £1700. WHether he is he lping me here or not why cant he just give us a breakdown costs? To me it seems hes trying to sort it out so he can get more money. Legally if I go back to the depoist people should he show us a breakdown of costs I know you are saying if hes reasonable he can but must he be clear wth all expenses?
Also I know I keep asking but does anyone know about the key issue I mentioned previously should there be 3 keys at the start of the tennancy? I need to get back to the agents regarding this as I beleive its not my fault and now the landlord is waviring th £75 should he be liable for not having a spare set. The new property ive moved into I have a set my flatmate does and so does the landlord does anyone out there know anything regsarding this then hopefully I can put this to bed.

Is there anyone out there who can clarify the fianl points sorry if im rushing. The landlord has been calling me everyday this week and texting me as wants an answer on final agreement. He threatend in a text today he will take me to court if I dont respond asap. I havent had contact since Firday but surely he need to wait he seems very pushy to get me to agree to £1000.

Exactly ... if you don't agree with the landlord's deductions then dispute it using the deposit scheme. I guess the whole point of your OP was that you dispute the deductions? Don't be bullied into accepting them.0 -
Ok thanks guys the only thing left is regarding the keys should there be three sets can anyone clarify this legally? Three sets is quite important as it means its definitely the agent or landlords fault. They are blaming me for leaving the keys in the falt even though they told me to. This means they thought they had a set when initially telling me. As my other flatmate posted his there is no way of getting into the flat hence the ll paying for a locksmith0

Why do keep repeating the same question? It is irrelevant, as teh next steps are still to dispute any deductions via the deposit scheme and prove you followed the LL's/agent's directions.
If it'll put your mind at rest though, I'll answer. There is no explicit requirement for the LL to keep 3 sets of keys (indeed what if they have no agent? what if the tenant changes the locks). Generally, if the LL (or LL's agent) instructs you to do something and on reliance of that you oblige, they cannnot then penalise you for this (there are exceptions to this such as when statutory law / a contract already addresses the issue).0
