Orange Have cancelled my 500 texts

last December I followed Martins instructions to get a better deal from Orange, I had a month to go so asked for the disconnections department the outcome was the £30 deal with 200 minutes and 500 texts.
However I have just seen the advert on tv about looking after existing customers, so tried my luck to get a new handset, no go unless I paid £100 and changed to a worse tariff! Even the guy I spoke to said the advert was misleading!0 -
well, i got handed a MASSIVE bill by orange who also neglected to inform me of my text's being revoked...and not at any time was I told it was for 18months. I rang and was rudely told to basically naff off.
not very good, so managed to wangle a deal out of them for loads of minutes and texts and a stupidly good phone...for free.
nikkig, i think the guy you spoke to was holding the speaker up to his backside as you should have got onto retentions and told them what a useless bunch of fools they are and you want your PAC number. they're usually pretty quick to sort something out after that.0 -
Thats what I did in December when they gave me that new tariff and a new phone then. The guy I spoke to was actually laughing and agreeing with me that the advert was misleading. The funny thing was that I was on the orange site as I spoke to him and it told me the upgrade was free!
I do not get it!0 -
just re-read the terms and you have to have done 9 months of your contract, and guess what the offer appears to finish the end of july!0

i signed up in late 2003 for orange your plan 120 with 250 free texts and free gprs for £25/month. about 2 months ago having read mse, i called up retentions to get a better deal, and got 500 mins and 150 more texts, making a total of 500 mins, 400 texts, and the free gprs for £25/month. i had not upgraded since 2003, so i was able to get such a good deal out of them, and a free 6230.
this morning, i noticed on my bill that the 400 free texts and free gprs had disappeared, and i was left only with 500 mins and 60 texts. i called up retentions to complain, as they didnt notify me etc. after some bartering, and came out with 500 mins 500 texts for £25/month, but i had to lose my free gprs. there was no way she was gonna let me have that one.
oh yeah, she said that i should have been told at sign up in 2003 that it was an 18 month promotion, and she told me that my deal that i came out with today is promotional too, and runs for 18 further months.0 -
Personally I think orange are pretty crap anyway, there are so many better deals out there, it seems like they just screw you as much as poss.
O2 online you always get at least 500 texts with every package, or there's the cashback route.
I'd only go with orange if they were the only service provider with a signal where I lived!0 -
If still not happy report them to OFCOM (replaced OFTEL a while ago) or even better to TRADING STANDARDS ONLINE They're really on the ball and quite quick at answering!0

This is the same situation as I am in.
I spoke to a legal advisor, whom I explained that this was not an isolated incident and that the operator who I originally spoke to said that there had been a large amount of calls to complain about this happening to them.
He said that I didn't really have a case, unless I could come up with proof of this happening to other people too.
Reading through the posts - it seems that there are other people out there with the same issue.
Anybody got any ideas how we could complain on mass to Orange/Regulators/Trading Standards etc....
Why should such a big company be able to move the goalposts as and when they like without any warning to loyal customers.
I used to think the customer was always right - Till I joined Orange !!!!0 -

Ok - So everyone else is happy then....!!0 -
i've been happy with orange right from the beginning going back almost 7 years! they comply almost always with any request i make, from queries on my bill to matching a three contract. only thing is that it takes a while for new phones to be sold by them, vodaphone always seem to get them quicker. the relevance to this forum is that my 400 texts were cancelled without warning, i called up to complain, and they bumped me up to 500 texts!0
