Does anyone here have a partner that feels threatened by your weight loss?

The reason I'm asking is that my hubby is constantly saying that I'm seeing somebody else if I don't want to pay him much attention, if I'm tired after work etc.

Last night we rowed and I went to bed just after 10.00 to watch some TV for a bit.

He apologised this morning and said he won't say these things again, but I'm not so sure....

    Any comments would be welcomed.

I think it can be hard for our partners as we lose weight.
My husband has joked about me finding a newer model once I've lost weight, because I'm 11 years younger than him, and is health isn't great. Nothing serious though, but that might change as I lose more weight.

I think it's insecurity on their part, along side us gaining confidence as we lose weight.

Hopefully it will just be temporary, whilst he gets used to the new slimmer you, with a little reassurance for him.

Wise words kathryna . I think insecurity can show in lots of ways with change, just so happens that in this instance it's weightloss. It can happen with a change to a better job, buying new clothes, going out with mates all sorts. My DH is complimentary on my weightloss but he knew I hated being fat.

I'm sure talking it through is the answer but sometimes there's implied criticism if your partner is overweight or eats junk. It's a bit like the 'friends' who tell you to stop losing weight, often jealousy because you're making the effort and they're not. Harder when it's closer to home though. :)

Don't apologise for your lunch denise . I rarely have Speed with breakfast, just make up for it across the day. I think the new 'rule' about synning sweetener can be ignored if you only use large amounts rarely. When's the roulade for? Have you got a taster session tomorrow?

    Spot on Maman.

We have got a taster tomorrow but DH asked for the roulade as I was making stuff for it! We've already eaten some of it.

I've made SW chocolate brownies and I've done the mixture for some cumin scented falafels which is in the fridge firming up. Will be cooking them shortly!

I usually just do the falafels as it's the thing that everyone seems to like and most group members can't be bothered with the "faff" they think is involved in making them! I don't find it so as I just bung everything into the food processor and then mix up with an egg in a bowl once everything is combined.

The worst thing as far as I'm concerned is the fact that they need 6-8 hours in the fridge to firm up. I usually make up the mix the night before but I was using frozen chickpeas (which I'd previously cooked from dried) and they weren't defrosted.

Oops that turned into a bit of an essay, sorry!

call the arena - there was a steps fanclub presale yesterday via ticketmaster and another site but most venues handle their own accessible tickets. I called Leeds first direct arena and got a wheelchair + 1 companion within 2 mins but I wasn't the first. there's another presale today :)

on my own in the office so can't wait to get out and stretch a bit on my speedy walk!

I'll ring them tomorrow but usually Newcastle Arena put the wheelchair spaces on sale with the general sale seats. Thanks for the tip x

-2lb for me this week please Shala.

Pleased with that, leaves me 1/2 lb to go for my first (of three) stone lost. I should be able to do that by next week although we are out for a meal and drinks at the weekend. Keeping to 10 syns and trying to avoid guessing syn values seems to be working so far.

Next weeks plan is to look out some new recipes as I'm feeling a bit uninspired with cooking at the moment. It's not easy in our house as we have 3 adults, one veggie, two dieting but with a different approach, another adult and 3 year old occasionally, so recipes need to be pretty adaptable!

Well done to all the losers!

Well done to all the losers! :T

    Today's menu was as follows:

B: Cheese (HExA) omelette with mushrooms & tomatoes
    L: Roasted Vegetable soup
D: Spaghetti Bolognese with extra mushrooms & courgettes

Am just off to the kitchen to cook the Onion & Potato tortilla from the website for class tomorrow (we have a taster session, too). If it all goes horribly wrong, I shall take a packet of Digestive thins and a packet of Oreo thins instead - bought them weeks ago when they first came out, but am now too scared to open them, in case I scoff the lot in one sitting!! :o:rotfl:
