Tesla Model 3 perhaps, although delivery estimates are nearer 2018.0
-
Tesla Model 3 will be the one that changes everything..... If it ever arrives. The delivery has been put back several times and I'm starting to think it's a pipe dream.
You could make your own EV conversion, if you like? I've seen a few people do that with old bangers sitting in their front yard. Not sure what the rules are though.0 -

They're claiming a 200 mile range. You could be driving a Chevrolet Bolt/Opel Ampera-e already, with an official range north of that, so long as you were happy with LHD (which shows how little GM think that it'll stop the show in the UK), while the Nissan Leaf replacement coming this summer will likely be north of that, too.
200 mile will be normal range when the 3 finally arrives.
Range is just about how big a battery you can stuff in. The bigger the battery, the longer the charge time.0 -
In what way? Not range, which is the main showstopper now.

I didn't mention range. GM aren't forward thinking at all. The best plug-in hybrid in the world, is probably the Chevrolet Volt, and you can't get it in England anymore.
The Nissan Leaf is currently 27 grand for a base model and has a pretty poor driving range, although throw in a few gov grants and it'll bring it down. I'll wait for this summers upgrade.
It'll be a game changer in my opinion, in that it'll be almost affordable for the average bloke, i.e. me. I'm not 100% sure what the cost is going to be of the Model 3, but the numbers seem to be looking at around 28 grand, but we're talking a range of 215miles and potentially some further government grants to help bring those costs down. It's the first one I've seen where it could perhaps pay for itself?0 -
Just in case you missed any of these, Zola, BMW i3, Kia Soul, VW eGolf, Hyundai ioniq (electric or hybrid)...
Zoe, Leaf and i3 have all had battery upgrades recently if range is the problem. The 41kWh Zoe is good for 140 real miles.0 -
Electric cars just not worth doing, the industry is going to bleed the consumers dry with electric cars, then in 10-15 years, they'll be demonised just like Diesels, then they'll roll out hydrogen fuel cells (see GM Hy-wire) and start pushing those instead.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Cheers, I like saloon cars more so, or 'meatier' hatchbacks!
Ioniq aint a bad looking motor, do like the Tesla 3 though!0 -

Can you give me the lottery numbers?0 -

Hydrogen doesn't gain you anything. You can't dig it out of the ground; you have to manufacture it. That means lots of energy from somewhere. You might as well just use that energy to charge batteries, rather than messing about manufacturing a fuel that isn't very dense (unlike petrol, diesel or even LPG), and leaks out of your tank at the slightest opportunity. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
