    Morning all,

Wet & wild here, and getting worse.I took the pooch out before it got too bad otherwise she wouldnt have walked. She just stands firm if she doesnt want to go and I look a bit daft trying to pull a dog who weighs the same as me :rotfl:.The park was flooded but hasnt spilled over onto the road and down ours yet.Ly1a and I had a little paddle to freshen her paws up but as I went further it was in danger of going over the top of my wellies so we beat a hasty retreat :D

The contractors don't seem to be doing very much at the front today,& say the new culvert is running too fast to work down the shaft right in front of us-thats ok,as long as its not coming in my house any more they can take their time

DH birthday today and he's just put on FB he may bunk off work this afternoon and go for lunch-trouble is I had my breakfast late.
I've got some steak out for tea and may even make a cake for him-its so long since I did any baking due to trying to keep off sugar.

Judi-hugs to you,and anyone else in need of one xx

  • Its a wild, wild day here, our plastic greenhouse took off over a 6 ft gate and landed in the front garden, its now in bits as is the tomato house, I am sick of paying for new covers etc, so from now on we will do without. The draught coming in the back door is something else!! I can feel it in the sitting room. I wish we had the room to put a curtain on the door, it might help to cut it down a bit. OH says its due to blow itself out in the next couple of hours, two minutes will be too long for me. So glad we had the chimney checked last year, no chance of the stack coming down through the roof.

I managed to get to the Drs this morning, he has confirmed I have a urine infection, so anti b's for that, I have also had my BP checked and another raft of bloods taken. Thankfully I slept better last night, about time too. I still feel as if I am wading through treacle, but the symptoms do seem to lesses in the evening.

I have prepped with supper with limited help from OH, sausage and bean casserole, spuds, carrots and calabrese.

There is a bit of pork casserole in the fridge I will have that for lunch. OH will have a cheese sarnie with the rest of the tomato salad from last night.

  • Ger yes the brownies are gorgeous but as you say mixing the eggs and sugar takes a while Not so bad if I was at home as I would have used my food mixer but I was at DDs and couldn't even find an electric beater so we had to do it by hand DGS Mikey and I took it in turns as you really have to beat them until they change colour Lovely cakes but a devil to make :):)Plus as you say the cocoa powder goes everywhere no matter how carefully you sieve it .
Managed to get a new lead for my mobile so its on charge at the moment I also resisted even going into M&S so hung onto my voucher :):)

  • Thank you Doris, we've lost 3 fence panels and idiot neighbour is bleating as she wants me to move them as they are blocking the pavement, well she can jog on they are far too heavy for me.

    Hello.
Had a bad night too, was coughing so much I thought my chest would burst. Anyway had an undisturbed couple of hours from 8am till 1pm. I can cope during the day I just wish the nights were as easy.
Not much done today because of late start, but have trimmed my hair so now I look less like a shaggy sheepdog.
Tea today will be lattice potatoes and something ( possibly chicken )
Thinking of TA and especially MrTA
Deleted_User hope your infection clears up quickly
Apologies to anyone I have missed and hugs to anyone who wants or needs one
Stay safe whilst Doris is around

Well I'm in Glasgow safe and sound. No wind or snow where I live only a short bout of sleet and then blue skies. The journey down was trouble free, roads clear and only snow on the hills and mountains. They looked so beautiful against the sky. Glasgow is very rainy. Of course there's loads of snow everywhere else it seems, but for once it's missed us.

The decorator turned up early and began working immediately, think she's prepping today and emulsioning tomorrow. I'm not having the wood done this time as I just want a quick fix to cover the two repair points in the living room and one in the small hall.

I was awake at 6.00am this morning. No idea why. Two hour teaching was good again and I managed to speak to each one individually which always helps.

Now it's feet up time. My car is going in for a service tomorrow morning in Dumbarton which is half an hour away.

Still no TV connection in the bedroom or kitchen here, not for the want of effort!

On the subject of brownies by the way I have a great recipe for malteser brownies if anyone wants it. Nice and easy to make too :)
Sounds interesting - I don't think I've ever made brownies.

Managed to do two more modules of my online First Aid for Dogs course today, so a bit more productive than yesterday.

Hester if your neighbour wants the blown-down fence panels moved that urgently, she could do it herself, no? ;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

We went out for an early afternoon tea for DH birthday,it was lovely but ate far too much :o
.Doris seems to have brought loads of trees down round here, one just round the corner near the park, then when we got to the retail park there was a massive one blocking the dual carriageway causing long queues of traffic ,but it had been cleared by the time we were leaving, quite a few buildings damaged too.DH is off out for a pint later but only local,so I think he's enjoyed his day :)
The log burner is lit and I've been doing a bit of crochet while DH had a snooze to sleep all the cake off :rotfl:
    Stay safe everyone x
