Gers any chance of the recipe for the brownies .DGS and I made some with the recipe of the 'net last week and it was such a faff using three seperate bowls and god knows how many ingredients. Its was called The Best Brownie Recipe Ever and it was nice but took ages to do.We need a quick and easy one if possible pretty please:):)
That's the recipe I used Jackie - and I used four bowls as I had the flour in an extra bowl. Think I said it was a faff yesterday. The longest part was the whisking of the eggs and sugar but that was fine, it was just the washing up and clearing the surfaces of cocoa powder. Mind you the brownies are lovely.0 -
Morning, thank you redruby for the new thread.
Dark grey sky and wind getting up, dear dog hates the noise of it blowing in the chimney, so expect her to be worried and restless for a while.
Busy day ahead - hearing clinic for me first thing, hairdressers this afternoon and OH has an appointment at the doctors. Must cook the minced beef and mushrooms today, too tired yesterday, I settled for GF pasta n cheese and OH cooked ham and beans in a micro'd jacket potato.
Not sure what I'll be doing between times, baking calls, but the dust bunnies are taking over, thank goodness for light coloured furniture or would look even worse (you may gather that I am a little behind with my housekeeping LOL, but will continue to do as much as I have spoons for:D and be happy that things are looking better, just need to learn to be more tidy but a vain hope at my age perhaps:rotfl:
Best wishes for the TA's and cszarina2. Judi, I cannot begin to imagine how difficult it must be for you, caring vibes coming your way.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Morning everyone,
Windy and wet here at the moment, it's supposed to get gradually worse throughout the day. My window cleaner texted last night to say that he would be doing the windows today, not sure he has seen the forecast!
Knock on the door last night and it was my eldest SIL popped round for a chat, not sure about popped as it's a 40 mins drive for her but bless her she wanted to check I was ok, she's a sweetie
Not sure what today will bring, no need to go out as picked up some fresh veg etc yesterday, think may stay in and avoid the storm.
Blimey my window cleaner has just turned up, brave man!
Hope everything goes well today TA
Have a good day everyone, take care folks x0 -
Morning everyone
On the subject of cables I had a tall kitchen bin full of cables/chargers/wires/extension cables in my room of gloom the office. After realising that I had used nothing in it for months if not years I decided to just chuck the lot and yes it felt goodI had chargers for phones that I dont have anymore connectors for things I have no idea what they are meant to connect and about 20 sets of earphones which i never use
Tru ....Scampi has made my day what a gorgeous dog...if you ever get bored of him...:D:D
Working this afternoon/this evening so food wise I will probably just have a bigger lunch than normal..soup and a sandwich maybe or if Im not hungry which is likely then Ill take it with me.
Doris is starting here now its getting very gusty and unpleasant I can see there will be some flying bins hopefully nothing worse though. I am due to pick a colleague up at the station today but now wondering if they will arrive at all.
Hope everyone manages to keep safe in this weather0 -

Good morning everyone,
Weather is dreadful here this morning. Few of my colleagues are snowed in and it took me 2 hours to get to work.
I've arranged a viewing to see a flat I like the on Monday, so hope all goes well. It's a bit earlier than I planned to buy but if it's right, I could make it work.
Flying visit as it appears I'll be busy covering for those who can't make it.
Have a good day all.0 -
Morning all
Well that has to be my worst non sleep night for ages. Up until 2am tossed and turned but didn't sleep, got up again at 4am for a couple of hours then tried to sleep but I was just tossing and turning, sleeping fitfully and having bad dreams waking a half an hour later soaked in sweat...I seem to have looked at my clock on average every 20 mins for the last 6 hours!
As a result, I don't feel on top of the world today :rotfl::rotfl:
Work soon, then bed I think. My flat is a mess and really needs cleaning but I doubt very much if it will get done today!
Off to read back everyone's posts.
Have a good day all'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
Jackie, google "The stone soup best ever cocoa brownies" she just melts the butter in the pan and then stirs in the rest of the ingredients. It also doesn't contain chocolate that has to be melted, just cocoa so is a lot cheaper to make, always a bonus with growing boys. You have to scroll down quite a lot for the recipe.
TA fingers crossed for good news today.
Hugs to anyone else in need.
I've been busy this week with SiL down but we've had a good time. We went to Oxburgh Hall near Swaffham which is the best NT house I've been to for ages, much more how they used to be rather than the homogenised cash cows a lot of them seem to have been turned into.
Yesterday we went down to DD's for a birthday meal (it's today, I can't believe she's 34!). DH, DS and DiL and DH were also there. DD's husband wasn't there - he was at the Brits with work. Apparently he got in at 4.30 and woke her up so she is really tired this morning. He is in he doghouse.0 -
Good morning all,
Thank you redruby for the thread.
Judi I am so sorry that you are in such pain because of your son. Take good care of yourself and know you are doing your best. You are both in my prayers.
Was MIA yesterday, Wednesdays are beastly busy for me, up at 6 for shelter breakfasts, when I am not in charge of cooking I assist the other cook (she does it for me too), then Pilates. Then some days like yesterday I am in charge of cooking church soup lunch, by the afternoon I am a wreck and fall asleep for a couple of hours, like yesterday. Bliss.
Last night DH and I went to a fermentation workshop and came back with 3 jars of mix veg pickles and two large jars plus two large cabbages to turn into sauerkraut, all this was free, courtesy of Ik£a! They got a project called Lagom and they run workshops, at least in London (Stratford Westfield).
Day of rest today, am a bit achey and spaced out. Will be MIA all weekend as going away, DH has a weekend of martial arts in Oxford and I will be pottering about and window shopping. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Morning everyone, thanks to redruby for starting the thread and hugs to those that need or want them.
Another one MIA yesterday due to a vertigo flare up - thankfully feeling more like it today.
Son arrived home just before the storm hit thankfully and it was wild overnight and not much better this morning so wheels will not be getting aired.
Looking forward to a nice brunch of lorne and tattie scone being made for me and son is in charge of catering this evening. He's off to Prague early doors tomorrow so it's nice to have him home today.
I'm not planning on doing much except regaining my feet and not sleeping for most of day.
Hope everyone is safe and warm and not hit too hard by the storm x0
