I am another no-ironing fan, apart from when sewing. What a waste of our energy it is - and the energy we pay for - to iron things like tea towels, socks, etc.

I bought a steam iron in Sainsbury's three or four years ago for about £4 (when my ancient one conked out), and it is perfectly adequate. In the basics range, in an orange and white box - they still do them.

Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!
