Received Letter today from Sky saying that from 1st March they are
increasing my line rental by £1.50 a month.
I have been in contract since June 2016.
Can I phone them to cancel my contract. Yes or No
thanks in advance.

The letter will lay out your options. Check this article out as well.

Yes
You can cancel either because the monthly subscription price is increasing. OR because the call charges are increasing.
You have 30 days from the date that sky tell you about the price changes in which to tell sky that you will be leaving.
You can leave penalty free at any point after you tell them (next day, next week, next month, next year...). You will continue to be charged the new rate until you switch providers.0 -

BT are doing unlimited fibre for £29.49 but you have to pay £59.99 for the Modem/Router. You get £100 Reward Card. Go through quidco you get another £90. Works out at £18.66 for 12 Months.0

Hi, hope this isn't too late for some of you out there. I received the same email from sky, and I was going to call and haggle (first time for everything). But I logged into my sky account online and clicked on cancel just to look for call centre opening times, and after saying why I wanted to leave (new provider cheaper) it offered me free broadband for a year (about to increase to £10pm) if I stay for 12 months, then it'll increase as it was going to on the 1st of march! So £120 saved. I'm very happy and I didn't need to haggle! Hope this helps someone else and I'm not too late!0

Look at other providers. I get free broadband with sky and pay for anytime calls at £8 extra. only £5 at talktalk and £90 cashback through topcashback on a 12 month contract.
overall its about £1 more expensive with talktalk but £90 cashback which tracked within 15 minutes is a no brainer for me.
so its goodbye to sky from me0 -
Check out BT Infinity 1 offers out via Cash Back sites, TopCashBack & Quidco - you can currently get 52mb fibre and weekend calls for approx. £18 per month after all Cash Backs applied, and this includes a £100 MasterCard from BT itself - further details on this offer available from HotUKDeals, Quidco or TopCashBack and the contract is for 12 months.0

Been with Sky for about 11 years now, but my last discount lapsed last Autumn and I've been too lazy to sort it out since, but this thread gave me the boot I needed.Hi, hope this isn't too late for some of you out there. I saw the same thing and thought I'd try and call and see if I could do better, and was told the absolute most they could do is just £7.50 a month off! Wasn't too happy about that, but she was also able to get a pretty hefty discount on the TV that brought the total bill down by about £20 a month, plus they agreed to sent me a new router to replace my venerable SR101 router and stand-alone modem.
Required a new 12 month contract on the broadband and a choice of 18 months contract or 12 months contract with 10 months discount on the TV.
Well happy with the result.3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). Octopus Flux0 -
I can only find an 18 month contract at £27.50 or 12 month contract at £25. Caller display costs an extra 99p, too.
