SKY Fibre Optic: Worth Calling Sky

The annual haggle/migration to save on phone and internet is getting much more of a hassle, since the 'beneficial' (big joke) combination prices, as before you knew you were getting line or broad band free, one free and one half price or both half price, but now prices are vague and forever changing.

Ignoring the voucher, as most will be needed to service the cease fee, on leaving, I got a good deal with PlusNet of £16.48 (ADSL, line, caller display) with £8 for calls, but as the service is poor want to move after the minimum term.

I was hoping to go back to Sky, but the internet/phone deals for completely new customers differ from those for tv customers, so that's going to be a problem, as my tv will be ongoing for about 6 weeks, but I won't be keeping it, because I only returned for the 75% off deal, which they won't reoffer.

To add to this, a survey I did a few days ago, suggests that Sky is restructuring combinations again, so is fishing for opinions. This will make decisions on whether one has a good deal, even more difficult.

It's a great deal but I couldn't get it unless I took out another 18 month contract for tv which was renewed on a 12 month conteact a couple of months ago and has 60% off offer. They wouldn't budge and insisted I could ring to do a new deal when the current one finishes despite me asking why would you as I would still be contract and having to pay full price for 8 months? Fuming and moving isp which I am a bit twitchy about as I have had excellent service from sky.

I cancelled my Sky tv package in July so was just a Fibre customer when i got the deal the other day.

Yes,I've done two surveys recently ostensibly re TV providers -but it quickly becomes apparent that Sky are investigating ways of screwing more cash out of unwary customers by "repackaging"!
I mainly have Sky for sport -but not Premier footy! - and the quality/quantity of cricket/rugby etc is definitely declining -my own wish is that they hive off the "expensive" footy bits ,and offer the rest of the sports package at a reasonable price eg make Sky Sports 1 into a super Premium channel ?- but I can't see it happening any time soon:(
In my annual renewal "chats" the Sky advisors seem to find it difficult to believe that I REALLY don't care about the footy!!!
