  • I've only booked uk holidays and though there are extra charges the holidays apart from 2, one being pontins, (how they are still around no idea), from the many I have been too over the years are good value considering full price I would of paid. They are more a base for me and my family as we use local buses to go places and eat out with evenings sometimes go to club house other evenings stay in accommodation and play board games. It is a bit misleading to say £9.50 holidays as you have to pay minium for 4 people even if 1 to 3 of you and some club charges for passes are expensive so decide if worth buying if only going to club house after 6pm before this time you don't need a pass. Bedding I have taken my own but to be honest worth extra so beds are made ready so once unpacked, cuppa and chill.
  •  By the time all the extras are added onto these "bargain" holidays its much cheaper to find a holiday on AIRBNB and VRBO.
  • On the MSE guide for these holidays it says:

"If booking online, you'll know instantly if your park/date choices are available and if none of your choices are, you're able to just search again. You can check all options and book a specific location and date."

I'd been under the impression that this wasn't the case; that you had to committ to 4 parks and dates, and that if you then got one of those, you'd already committed to paying?

So to put it another way: if I specifically want to go to one or two parks on a particular date, can I enter those parks and the date, plus a couple I don't want, and some dates I don't want, and then if I don't get options I like, just close the browser and withdraw at that point with no payment?

Yes, this is exactly how it works. You do have to put in 4 parks and 4 dates, but you are presented with the available options from
that (or something slightly similar if absolutely nothing available). You then choose which, if any, you want to proceed with. So just make sure your preferences are at the top of the list and then add a couple of other options to make it up to 4 parks & 4 dates.

It really depends on what you are looking for and for what dates. Those who have the most flexibility in terms of dates & location will generally be able to pick up the bargains. Those who are restricted should always check against booking direct or comparing to AirBnB etc.
