Agree.
Its £9.50 each it is what it is. We have stayed at Butlins Bognor twice, Bideford Bay and Devon Valley Parks. I will be booking again this year. I have never had any problems. Apart from Butlins you don't generally stay on the park much, its just a base.BEST WIN LAST YEAR - MULBERRY HANDBAGSENDING STICKY VIBES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM0 -
Just want to say I highly recommend Haven Prestatyn, we did 4 nights in October 2018 and the caravans were very clean and it's a beautiful area of the coast. I heard bad things about Pontins Prestatyn, like horrific things, so check tripadvisor for any of the selections you plan to make.
I also agree that at 9.50 per person it is good value, though if it's less than four people you still pay for the other people, so £38 essentially, and it doesn't include entertainment passes but we didn't bother with those we just used it as a base like the above person said.0 -

I stayed at Brean Sands around two decades ago on a sun deal. You had to buy an electricity card for the meter & the beds were absolutely disgusting. Hopefully they've changed them by now. The meter was faulty and didn't deduct anything, so when we returned it for a refund of the credit they gave us the full value back.
But it was an amazingly cheap place to bed down before heading out in the car every day at dawn. I went with someone who was vegan, which was not really catered for anywhere back then & so I never tried the food.0 -
I used to collect these codes and take advantage of the cheap holidays but didn't realise that you will often be placed in a caravan which is owned by an individual not the company where the caravan is sited. The company then takes a 20% cut of what you pay less the linen fee, less the entertainment fees and less other costs. So the owner will probably get the £9.50 per night and it costs them at least £20 per night to keep their caravan on a site (depending on which site).0

It is correct that some sites do use caravans owned by individuals for Sun holidays but I believe it’s usually the case that owners have a choice to participate in this or not. On the site where my mum has caravans the site own a fleet of their own caravans which they use for Sun holidays. My mum does not take part in hiring her vans for these breaks. She doesn’t need too. She can book them out over and over privately at the real going rate as they are so nice and in such a great location on the park. You will often find that the ones used for Sun breaks are not as luxurious or as nicely located but it is as always you get what you pay for. And you could actually get a really nice caravan if you get an individually owned one. Whichever way you look at it it’s good value. The site where my mum is is a multi million pound Parkdean site, with top notch facilities and entertainment. You’d struggle to get a caravan for 3 nights there for under £150 out of season and when you talk a week in July school hols etc you could kiss goodbye to around £600 plus. And because the site is so good people pay top notch prices and come back year after year. I think the Sun holidays are great. Use the site as a base, and go out exploring, you can’t go far wrong. You can always research the sites you fancy online first and make sure you are happy with the facilities etc. And read the small print. It’s always a good idea as some parks charge for certain things and some don’t. And you don’t have to buy all the extras. Only if you want them.0

Beware there is a major glitch with the incompetent team who are running the 2020 Sun Holidays this year (Green Bank holidays). They have double booked an awful lot of holidays and have been busy cancelling them this weekend. We received a full confirmation of our Sun holiday to France only to be told it is cancelled yesterday due to a computer glitch and that there are no alternative vacancies across the whole of Europe (despite plenty of availability when sites are contacted individually). They won't even let us use the booked ferry crossing which isn't even related to individual campsites. Disgusting treatment to ruin our family holiday. Complete lack of effort to try and resolve it and deliver the commitment they gave when they sent our holiday booking reference and took the money in full last week. It could now take a month for the money to be returned - money that I need to try and book an alternative family holiday.0
