  • Totally agree with elwarburton. The same thing has happened to my daughter and her familly. Greenbank aka Eurocamp took a week to inform them of this so-called computer error and, in the meantime, they had booked time off work and bought a new passport. I hope everybody concerned will take on Greenbank and do their utmost to force the company to honour the bookings that were made in good faith.

did you receive confirmation from the holiday park operator?
there is another thread on the go here re the issue
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6093163/eurocamp-cancelled-sun-holidays-booking
Looks like the issue was the wording of their email...although it did state that the confirmation would come from the holiday park operator
rather than "We've made your holiday booking!" they should have stated "We've requested your holiday booking"
  • Absolute waste of time.  I collected the tokens and tried to book today, but there was absolutely no availability anywhere I wanted it kept offering me different dates and places. (offered me NW in place of SW) The cost with all of the compulsary extras was £117 for 4 nights in october.  Could not get anything for the summer.  I went direct to the booking site of the park, same time, better accomodation for £125 so an absolute waste of time.  Good luck to those who do get their chosen dates and times.

Extremely disappointed to learn that with Covid-19 and the WHO official announcement that this is a Pandemic, that TheSun do not recognise this and are enforcing their terms of no-refund. Whilst this is circa £50 it does not seen right that TheSun get to profit from this. I would be more than happy for my money to go to a good cause to support local residents or the fight against Covid-19.
Extremely disappointed in the Sun - shameful.
  • Hello has anyone managed to get a refund on their sun paper holiday that was cancelled due to the virus?  Any tips appreciated. I am having no luck.

It's very misleading advetising as £9.50, by the time you add the mandority extras for example a caravan park, you are paying full price!

I would like to recommend Haven Hafan Y Mor for anyone looking to book a Sun holiday, you can bag £9.50 holidays for the cheapest accomodation which is a nice little apartment with a modern kitchen, TV and bathroom, 2 bedrooms and sliding doors with patio. The whole park has been completely refurbished and it’s gorgeous, there is so much to do for any age, the decor is lovely, they have onsite restaurants (Burger King, Papa John’s, a chip shop, Millie’s cookies), a lot of arcades and an amazing waterpark with a lazy river, lots of slides, jacuzzi and kids area. It’s really worth going to even if you have to pay £15 each, I have had an upgrade to superior extra wide caravan and it was lovely but the apartment was just as nice. I try to go every year, it’s a lovely holiday park! Also there is a small train station not too far from the park (10 mins walk approx).
  • My sun £9.50 holiday was obviously cancelled due to covid 19, I've yet to receive any sort of refund. Can anyone help ??
  • Hi. I am trying to find out about Sun holiday refunds. Ours was cancelled due to Covid-19. We were due to go at the end of March 2020 to a Haven site but all the parks were then shut due to lockdown. We have had the second part of our money refunded by Haven but not the initial booking cost of £40. I don't know if this should be coming from The Sun or from Haven. I can't find any contacts online. Any advice?

Looking here I’m guessing that no one has succeeded in getting A refund from the sun?  I received a refund from Eurocamp really quickly but that was just for the extras. Sun holidays referred me back to eurocamp which seems a bit sneaky. So I am guessing as I paid via credit card I will have to go that route.
