Thinking of leaving BT broadband - what are best deals?

Hi everyone,
BT sent me an e-mail yesterday advising me our monthly broadband cost would go up from April by £3 a month. Thinking of leaving them for another provider as a result. Luckily for us consumers, the new (now old) Ofcom rules we can let the provider know within 30 days of our intention to leave.
Question is, who should I move to? Can someone recommend a few companies worth considering other than sky? I've only ever been with BT/Sky/O2 since we got broadband as we've been to scared to go for a smaller provider for fear of encountering problems! Think that needs to change as the bigger providers are not much better it seems.
Thanks.

Just off the phone to Sky this minute. 12 months fibre optic for £20 p/m and free line rental for the entire 12 month period. Also sending me the new SkyQ router for nothing. So £240 all in for 12 months.0

I am yes.
You just have to be economical with the truth when you call up. Tell them you are with BT and want to switch, you had a friend who just did the same and got the £20 a month with free line rental deal which beats BT's current offer of £264 a year.
Let us know how you get on.0 -
I'm under contract for other 11 months.
Just keen to see what fibre deals are around0 -
I'm moving to Virgin Media - Due to be connected next week. £15 per month all-in for basic TV, broadband and phone.
Nothing else came close with regards to price.0 -
