    Yes, he should be in receipt of AA and this will help towards costs.


    I don't think Mum can claim CA if she is retired.

  • I think they must do - they can't make up all the rules as they go along.

    When we first had carers my husband was allowed to keep more, not much more, of his money which was above the government guidelines.

    Ironically the council sent out questionnaires with two choices. Choice A was keep to the status quo. Choice B was to charge as per guidelines. The letter that accompanied the questionnaire said the council's preferred option was B. Needless to say our charge went up.
