    Hello all
    Elona thinking of you
Nmlc condolences on the loss of your friend
Camelot what on earth is the matter with some people? once is an oversight but twice! I must admit that a local playgroup based in a school, let my Grandson out at the end of a session without handing over to an adult. Luckily my DD was walking up the path as he was walking down on his own towards the road. The most scary thing was they didn't even know he had left as they were too busy talking to another parent! Needless to say he didn't go back, although my DD and SIL gave them and the head teacher both barrels.
It's a horrible grey day here today so I decided to change the bed and put some ironing away. However you know when one thing leads to another, well what should have been a hour has turned into several.
On the plus side we have sorted both wardrobes( nearly) and have a bag for charity. Off now to finish changing the bed and moving the dust around. If I don't surface tomorrow- I'm still there!
Well wishes to all the poorlies and good vibrations to all.

I'm back from my travels in town. Found the office but no-one in until tomorrow, but at least I now know where to go.

As I was parked close by I went into the community centre for a chat with one of the staff, it was lovely to catch up for an hour, haven't done that for ages.

Did the dump visit and afterwards managed to get parked outside the charity shop to drop off the bag of tshirts without too much trouble. Went to the bank too and had a nice small chat there whilst doing the money thing. Oh, and bought some more kindling, I've used up my foraged stuff.

It's amazing what a bit of sunshine and light does for me - I'm all energised, for a while at least. I've disposed of two electrical gadgets which were just collecting dust under the TV and will do some organising of the cable collection behind there later on this week. The postie will bring me cable ties with labels today so everything will be neat(er) and identifiable. I was so pleased with the smart plug I install in the bedroom yesterday that I bought another one for the downstairs jungle too, it's due to arrive today as well.

Onward and upward! Just got to fill up the bird feeders and stick another packet of lard in the tub.

I hope Elona is OK...maybe she'll come back later with good news, I do hope so.

I have just had an ecg and I hardly noticed it , honestly. Maybe she is checking for fluids round the heart or something? I promise it is not painful or scary and done really quickly. Cross my paws .

    I am finally home :j:j:j:j:j

Turns out I have PE (blood clots) in both lungs so have been put on new anticoagulants which seem much less intrusive and entail fewer tests etc than Warfarin. Feel really guilty for taking up so much of DDs time but grateful she was there. So glad she nagged me into getting a quick appointment with gp.

Looks as if it is back on healthy eating and reminding myself that crisps, chocolate and biscuits are not real food. If I want a sweet treat I will make myself low fat banana pancakes or fruit and yoghurt. I still have a big jug of green water - er kale and leek soup so will try to think of it as a hot smoothie ;)

Due to see consultant in a few weeks to try to find the cause as this is the second time this has happened and it will due me no harm to lose some weight and up my fruit and veg intake.

    Hugs to all

Elona I'm glad that you have the diagnosis and will now be on the mend.
LW I also had an ECG just before Christmas and Elona is correct the procedure is nothing to be worried about, I just wish I had shaved my legs though!
I managed to get out from the ongoing sort out but had a strange experience. I was putting DH's sleeping bag away and I heard a loud mans voice in my right ear asking "Whats that?". Turned around but no one was there even asked DH who was in the office/ dumping ground but he hadn't heard it. So now my brain hurts trying to work out what I heard. Very confused!

  • Glad you have discovered the cause of your breathlessness Elona.

OH was on warfarin which is supposed to guard against clots, he had a clot in his brain and then on his lung. He is no longer on warfarin either. My breathlessness is due to my heart though, different cause.

I hope you get on ok with your quest to loose some weight.

Just popped back to say hi to Elona, glad you're getting sorted out. Feet up time!

LW - I had an ECG last year in the wake of my nephew's sudden death, all of were told by the coroner of Victoria that because his heart disease was so advanced for a 34 year old we had to go immediately for testing. It wasn't the cause of his death but still was staggering for one so young. Anyway, sitting down, lots of electrode things stuck to my chest, ankles, wrists etc and then all done in about 10 minutes. No pain, no feeling no anything. I'm allergic to the sticky stuff they normally use, like on Elastoplast, so they got different dots for me. Painless, fear free and so useful. Please don't be scared or worried.

  • ELONA since I've been on a weight losing journey I find if I want something sweet the best thing I've found for hitting the spot is a cup of low calorie Hot Chocolate. It gives me a chocolate fix for 40 calories and the volume of my mug of delight fills the hole I've imagined in my appetite. Really helps!
