GERS I heard it too. They have kept pretty quiet about that and now it seems that most of the seats have been reserved already!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Elona, I hope you get on ok this morning. A CT scan is not as scary as the MRI scanner. Hope you got a good nights rest.
Its very cold here this morning, we had a heavy frost overnight. OH was hoping to get out into the garden, he is scuppered. I am planning a quilting day. I have to get that play mat finished.
Sausage and mash tonight, with beans I guess.
PS Hester, I did get onto your blog ok this morning.0 -
Morning everyone,
I haven't posted for ages but I still read pretty regularly.
Hugs to all those in need especially Elona and Hello to LW.
How are you Judi?
I too loved your post JackieO Happy Valentines Day to you.
Not a lot going on today here, I am on the 5:2 diet and this is a fast day so not a lot of eating either:) I have lost 6lb since Christmas though. I am off for a walk with my friend later and then I need to finish the packing as OH and I are going away for a few days tomorrow.
We are temporarily child free as DD2 is off on a school trip and the other two are at university.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Hester. I still can't get into your blog.
TA have a good day, I too spent yesterday in a horizontal position on the settee.
Gers, it's the Settle-Carlisle line, not peppercorn, lol. If we were still at the Yorkshire house we would probably have tried it as we're only 5 miles from Settle.
Speky, well done on treating your gran.
Brr, it's cold here. We have both forgotten Valentines Day but it's always been a bit of a non-event for us. It falls between our birthdays so we don't need another day to celebrate.
I want to tidy my sewing room and sort out the projects I'm doing before I get in a complete pickle with them. I usually tidy after I finishe each project but because I'm doing 3 at once I'm afraid that I will lose track of the pieces.0 -

Good morning everyone :hello:
It's not too bad here this morning, the heating doesn't need to go on which is useful as our boiler is making terrible noises, very scary . An engineer came to look at it yesterday and hopefully it will be replaced very soon.
DD14 has chosen her meal to cook. She is going to make sweet and sour chicken and rice from scratch. I am not allowed to help so I will be tucked up under a blanket reading my new book. Her sisters have decided to get all competitive and me and their dad have to choose which meal is the best. I have just ordered a student cookbook for the winning daughter as a prize:D.
nmlc, I was sorry to hear about your friend x
JackieO, I think the thing I am most happy to have in this day and age is the internet, particularly Google. There are recipes, health info, near enough any question I have can be answered online. It's pretty amazing when you think about it. Oh and Happy Anniversary xxxxx
We are not celebrating Valentine's day here as all my girls are single-pringles at the moment and hubby tells me every day how much he loves me so we don't need a 'special' day for it.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Morning all,
Cold here again with a bitter wind, I have got a load of washing on the go and will hang it out for a little while.
Will be having a tidy through today then getting the dog over the field for a long walk this afternoon I shall light the log burner and put a film on and relax before going back to work tomorrow.
I got a call yesterday about my new car, remember I ordered it way back long before Christmas ? well its due to arrive in this country by the 23rd but they have advised that I collect it on the 1st March then I can get 17 plates on it, so that's what I will do, another week to wait wont hurt !
Camelot hope the poor mum is ok, my first thought was if she was suffering from some kind of depression, especially if she did not seem overly concerned re the boy going missing x
Elona take it easy and hope all goes well xx
JackieO Happy Anniversary xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Quick hello and have a good day from me.
camelot oh blimey I do hope something is done before the poor child has an accident or the wrong person finds him wandering in the street. I would have been worried sick all night too.'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
Good morning all,
Nmlc thank you for the thread. Sorry to hear about your DH's friend, many of us here are at the age where losses are becoming more frequent, so together with the sadness of losing a friend we are constantly reminded of our mortality. Scary.
Camelot poor little lad, I hope too that he will be safe, I hope his mother is ok too, life is hard for some women, with a baby and a toddler (although not an excuse for lack of vigilance). We lost DD once when she was 2, she just wandered off into the shopping centre while we were paying for some clothes, the first we knew was when a security guard brought her back in asking is this baby yours! It all happened so fast, but it was a lesson learned and we became much more vigilant.
JackieO thank you for your Valentine wishes! DH and I don't "do" Valentine but these days try to live life to its fullest every day, not knowing what's around the corner.
Speky so lovely to hear of your love and caring for your Gran!
Elona I hope your scan goes well today, glad you are being checked and cared for.
Well, we are at the end of our break, bill settled and luggage nearly ready. We were looking to see where we can go today but decided to drive straight home, put a wash on and just have lunch out, be tourists in our own town, probably walk to North Greenwich and have lunch in one of the new places near the O2.
This evening I am on duty at the night shelter but as the coordinator knew we were coming back from a break, she has organised for Nando's to be delivered (they donate it to the shelter, there's no charge) so I don't have to shop and cook, which is nice. Tomorrow morning first thing I am helper on the breakfast duties so I am glad I will have an easy shift tonight.
Have a good day. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
