GB Online February 18

Hi,
Anyone know what the actual Elec & Gas unit and standing charge rates are for this tariiff? - can't find it online anywhere.

My current fixed ends next month and they have offered this in the form of 'estimated annual costs' without any explanation of unit cost or calculation.

It looks decent on their sums but I don't trust them one inch so want to calculate it for myself.

I have asked them of course but they are not exactly speedy in responding.

It'll vary by supply region.

Consult the CEC. Not only will it tell you the tariff info you are seeking, but also indicate it's cost in relation to the rest of the market.

I just googled CEC but nothing looked relevant? Thanks.

I cannot find a tariff of this name.
If they quote but fail to show how they got the price then I would avoid. They should have given all the information in the offer.

They compare this tariff only in annual cost against their own standard variable (Green - Pioneer) so it looks cheap.

They also give the usual breakdown of tariff rates for the Green pioneer against my current fixed.

So they try to scare you that if you do nothing you will go onto their way more expensive standard rate. But it would be a lot cheaper to go onto this new 'lacking detail' tariff. Which in itself may be far more expensive than what is on the market but they don't give the means to compare it...

Thanks, I have run price several comparisons but non show this GB Energy tariff, and as I don't know how they calculated it, I can't compare to the online quotes if its a bad deal or a good deal.

GBEnergy ceased trading late last year. Its customers moved to Coop Energy. Which company is offering the GB Online February 18 tariff?

Its presumably the co-op that are offering you the tariff.
It would appear that tariff is only available to existing customers

What you can do is tell the comparison site that the Online Feb 2018 tariff is your current tariff, and (a) you will see the tariff details and (b) it will tell you how it compares to the rest of market for you.

ah ha, genius! now I can get it, hmm actually looks pretty competitive, when I told the comparison site I was already on it it told me I was already on the cheapest around for my usage. Maybe hang in a bit longer...

Well I would suggest maybe not... I'm at the same point as you with GB, so thank you for getting those rates... I'm currently on Fixed 12 Sapphire and they advised I'd save over £150 pa... well compare the math to the rates you obtained and explain just how I achieve that like for like?????


My current rates:
Gas - 2.650 p/kw - .110 p/d
Elec - 9.550 p/kw - .122 p/d


Also, they did not produce Jan statements until a few days ago (as opposed to the 10th of the month before Co-Op took over) and despite sending in my readings before they compiled my 'offer', the annual readings they projected are way of base... like you, I feel I'm being scammed... or at least poorly served!!!


Have just registered for IChoosr collective energy switch and will wait to see what they can bring to the table... good luck.
