Apologies if this has been done before but what do you all have as the basis for your store cupboard beyond the obvious rice, pasta, lentils and tinned tomatoes?

For me its lots of bottles of sauces (fish sauce, soy sauce, 3 types of chilli sauce, different vinegars, worcester sauce rather than ready made etc) that I know can turn any fresh/ left over/ whoopies into tasty meals. I have 40+ different spices which I buy whole from the Indian grocers and grind as well so stay fresh for ages.

    • Lots of different oils (sesame, groundnut, chilli , garlic etc)
    • Tomato Puree, Garlic Puree
    • Herbs, spices , seasonings, Sauces, bottles of flavourings
    • All types of flour and sugar
    • dried milk
    • dried fruits and nuts
    • Different sauces
    • Balsamic vinegar
    • Rose Hip syrup,Rose Water, Peppermint oil
    • Vanilla Sugar
    • Coconut Milk, Dessicated Coconut, Stem Ginger
    • Canned meat and fish, Canned fruit
So I have plenty of choices
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Can we include stuff from the fridge?:)
  • Oooh. I like this thread idea.

Assuming I can have fresh fruit and vegetables (including garlic, ginger and fresh herbs) mine would be:

    1. Tinned tomatoes (i get worried if I have fewer than 5)
    2. Lentils
    3. Dried beans
    4. Flour
    5. Sugar
    6. Yeast
    7. Marmite - for vitamin b12 (i'm vegan) and yummy meaty flavour
    8. Oats
    9. Dried pasta
    10. Olive oil

(If i could have more - nuts, seeds, vinegar, TVP)
