Nooooooooooo!!! That's amazing!
I no longer have nine pairs, threw out my favourites because they toes were peeking out and the heels were becoming threadbare. Also chucked were two more pairs as they were surplus to my design tastes. :rotfl:
Mind you the unwanted Tshirt bag now has 21 items in it. That's outrageous. They'll go to a local Mary's Meals shop for whatever.
Been out for form filling, came back to search for something I was told was difficult to find - first hit and it was there! Searched for a defunct organisation and found its successor so all is good in Gers Towers. The sun is still blazing away and it's still light. I can live with the nasty east wind if there's sun and light to go with them.
I've eaten the last square of my 90% chocolate with a cup of tea - I'm a happy bunny.0 -
My oh my Karcher, that is an impressive collection of socks
Have had a reasonably productive day, two loads of washing now drying on the airers and have sorted through a big pile of photos from DM's. There are a number which have been enveloped up and will be posted out to various cousins and uncles, the others have all been put to one side to go through with DB when we feel up to it. Feels like a job well done.
Did venture out this afternoon for a walk with the girls, its bitterly cold so didn't go far, they are both now laying at my feet, silently begging for their tea with those big brown eyes, better do my human servant bit :rotfl:0 -
Good evening everyone, thanks to nmlc for starting the thread and hugs to those who need them.
I've had a very lazy and unproductive day and have slept loads - think I may have overdone it yesterday and the weather isn't helping it's perishing, very overcast and an artic wind so not pleasant out.
Unexpected visit from my son who drove home first thing as had cracked a filling and was in terrible pain. Tooth now patched up by the emergency dentist and he's sleeping off the broken night and long drive. Consequently dinner will be something soft from the freezer.
Hope everyone has good evening x0 -
Well managed to get to Dobbies and we had our freebie scones and tea. Then DGD went off to meet her chap, and I had a good wander around the store .Got a nice helibore to take tomorrow morning and a few other bits as well spent £9.98 out of my Happy Cash Stash so my food purse is still intact until Tuesday I think.
By Jiminy it was blooming nippy though and I was glad I had extra layers on plus the big new soft scarf that one of my DDs bought me for my birthday Its very soft cashmere and so cosy and extra long so it goes around my neck twice
I bought my lovely little neighour a little pot plant as last night around 11pm when I had to go and pick my DD up from her friends (where she had been having a girly night complete with vino) some stupid person had parked across my drive and blocked me in.
I tooted a couple of times but no one appeared and little Scarlett next door bless her, came down in her PJs and thick duffel and offered to take me as she saw I was really cross. Just as we were about to set off a woman appeared from up the road and said 'Oh sorry I didn't think anyone would be going out at this time of night' !!! and moved her car across the road.
I left Scarlett giving this daft woman a piece of her mind as I had to pick DD up. Apparently when I gave her her little thank you this afternoon she said this woman was in an ambulance uniform and Scarlett asked if she was on a call out and she said no just visiting her boyfriend !! She should have more sence than to block a drive way I would have thought.
I am so lucky with my neighbours they all look out for each other and I don't think I will ever move from here now.
Right, time for some hot soup I think I have the last of the carrot and corriander in the fridge which will warm me up nicely Tomorrow when we go up to the cemetery I think I will take a hot flask of coffee for Dd and I as its quite a windy open area and I think it will keep us warm while we are planting the pots etc.
Hope everyone is warm and dry its a bitter east wind blowing at the moment
Cheers chums

Met DD in York and just as we were walking away from the bus stop she fell over on the pavement  We were just outside Marks so I took her in there for a pot of tea, a scone and a sit down as she was a bit shocked but not hurt.
Decided not to go round a lot of shops but got a few bits and bobs we needed. I managed to find the black pg bottoms I like as they are the only ones that reach my ankles instead of being at half mast and they were reduced down to £10 and then again to £5 so very chuffed.
Ordered a coffee making machine at better than half price and a variety of drink pods online with free delivery so having a sit down before I go upstairs to tend to the fluffy princess who is convinced she is a "people!"

If someone blocks you so you cannot get out of your drive I think it is a police matter - hope someone points that out to her. Suppose somebody she had blocked needed an ambulance?
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

:j Sounds like you've had a good day
In my defence, I do always have cold feet and some of my socks are decades old
I double up my socks under work boots and obviously need clean ones after a shower in the evening and if I've been to the gym, I can often get through 4/5 pairs in a day
But you beat me hands down on the T-shirt front. Other than work ones (which are unsightly!!) I only have about 5....and they have all seen better days
I hate clothes shopping but next time I go (which is only about twice a year) no doubt I'll come home with more socks and no new T-shirts :rotfl:'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

The secret's out - our Karcher is actually a centipede! :rotfl:

During the winter I wear a pair of light socks under a slightly thicker thermal pair. I cannot stand having cold feet. I always wear socks in bed, it has to be very hot for me to leave them off. I have about 2 dozen in various weights and colours. Usually target M & S when I need new ones.
Done nothing all day except cook a fry up for supper, spent the afternoon working on a financial plan......its looking good.0 -
