Do you have contacts, and what area is it in? We are moving to a farmhouse a few miles from Okehampton in August. There is no gas in the house but a wood burning stove and this is new to us. The outgoing people are leaving us some logs but it might be useful to have a cheap source of supply.

Sorry, we are 20 miles from Oke, nearest to Chulmleigh, so about the same as the distance to your current location.
As I said in my post, these people have logs as a sideline. They transport timber, as in 'logs' 25' long on the back of an artic, but so far as I know, they, just move it about. Their other main line is unrelated to forestry.
The logs they do are just within the immediate area; a time filler. We ordered 4 loads in May. So far we've had one, and that was really bound for Glastonbury, but the guy just didn't turn up for it. Lord knows when we'll get the rest.
There's a nice guy at Morchard Road whom I turn to occasionally when running low, but again, that's still miles away from you:
