    :hello: Good morning everyone

Hope you're all well today .... sorry to hear of your carpy
day yesterday fire**fly. It's so frustrating what with
the weather, having to wait etc. Hope all is well with DH and
that you treated yourself to a little something in the evening
    - needs must and all that! smileys-cheers-259866.gif

Have a lovely time this morning rose at the coffee charity
morning - sounds wonderful and a brilliant cause. :A

Sounds as if you both had a wonderful break sheils - not
long to go until you're both off and away again! :D

It ended up chucking it down yesterday pluie07.gif[STRIKE] but
thankfully today is looking a bit better - at the mo![/STRIKE]

Ignore that - it's pouring again now .... but looking on the bright
side - the garden will love it! :D

Well - must get on - got loads of comps to catch up on,
also popping out later and still got the dreaded ironing
and housework to do! Ho hum! :p

Have a lovely and lucky day all and please take care
    whatever you're up to.

Lovely sunny morning here and supposed to get hotter as day goes on.
All washing dry and wasn't anything else to wash so got all the bath mats.
Don't like to waste a good drying day and they don't need ironed!:D
Like you I will be ignoring the ironing Alfie.

Coffee morning sounds good rose. Think a lot of us were brought up in poor families. Was speaking to neighbour when we got home and she was on about how poor her family were when she was a child. Her husband and her are mega wealthy now anyway! I know I was brought up on milky puddings as dad was a dairyman and we got free milk.

Hope everyone has a lucky day.

    Afternoon all :)
We've finally got a bit of sun so I've got washing on line! Woohoo! I never thought I would be so excited over washing! :D

Sorry you had a rubbish day yesterday fire**fly xx hope all is well with DH's results and appointments xx
I don't think the rain has ever stopped since kids broke up from school! DD1 was at flamingo land yesterday on coach trip and some of the rides were closed with the rain. It was constant so they were soaked!

Good for you buying yourself some new clothes Rose :) I agree with Sheils I think it was the same for everyone years ago. We grew up in a house with no bathroom, just a tin bath in the backyard, a pot to pee in and a mangle in the yard! :D Oh how times have changed now!

Glad to see you're getting some sunshine Sheils. Hope it stays dry for your next break. :) I'm debating if to put the heating on, it's so cold at the minute!

Alfie, your garden must be loving all this rain! Good luck with catching up and I'll send my ironing down to you later! ;) (If I ever get it dry! :p )

Well best go get ready to take girls for their eye appointments. You never know....we might end up in ice cream parlour! :D
    Have a lucky day everyone!
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!

Hi all, we are back. We had a hectic few weeks with GKs then DH and I went to Madeira for a holiday. Wonderful sunshine. We were booked to fly back Sunday but strong winds at airport meant two day delay. We eventually arrived home 10.30last night.

DH had mild ear ache the last two days eardrops from Madeiran chemist did not work. No doctor's appointment available today but they have given him hospital appointment for this afternoon. He can't hear from his good ear. His glass frame broke yesterday he has no idea about spare glasses. Good news on that front I phoned opticians and she asked which pair were broken and they are covered until next year. He's now looking for spare pair. Ho ho.

Hope everyone is well and congratulations on any wins. I have had some book wins. A set of children's books delivered today I did receive an email about that and then postman just brought a book I knew nothing about. Also Something to pick up from Royal Mail.

Just read back a couple of posts. Agree with you Sheils and Rose about growing up. My stepdad was a miner so we had free coal, warm in the winter.

    Looking forward to reading back.

Really pleased with this win as my hair could no with some good conditioner looking forward to trying it out.

The other parcel was a Goodreads win. So today a series of 5 children's books and two adult books.

Well done on the wins leanfun. Hope you enjoyed your holiday even though it didn't go smoothly. I trust your DH got the proper treatment for his ear this afternoon.

Thanks Sheils holiday was good. We have made friends on the island. Yes, DH was given antibiotic drops which could take at least a week to clear infection. He still hasn't found spare glasses we have turned the house over.
Off to bed now really tired after the last few days.
