They know you are now out of contract and will like most sky customers will now threaten to cancel all. So they tie you into a new deal?

Offer I am on is free BB, half price line rental, 50% of all packages and they put £75 credit into my account.

Some others will have same, better or worse?

If you only have BB and line rental then good deal as all is free.

I was on the same deal as you until October, then cancelled tv. All I could get was free broadband , so I left, but later had an excellent tv deal.

Just after I left the new combination prices made the 'special ' price of line and ADSL the same as the total full price, so the new offer didn't look so bad.

I'm not happy with my new provider, PlusNet, but notice that all the big providers have put up prices by quite an amount. I think TalkTalk were the first, as I had meant to use them as bargaining power, but their prices went through the roof overnight.

When you do surveys, you are not supposed to divulge details, but from one I did today, it looks as though Sky will be restructuring tv and phone/broadband charging and are testing to see what is acceptable.

It is seems obvious to me that several big players are working in concert and not competing, they just keep increasing prices in the sure knowledge that their cartel partners will do the same. Sure we get thrown a bone from time to time but that is just for show.

You have to vote with your feet, I will move to MiFi until a better deal comes along.

They have to lose out, it is obscene that the "not fit for purpose" OFCOM is allowing prices to sky rocket with 9% increases when inflation GOAL is 2% but we have much less. Consumers are facing poorer and poorer service levels, if you live in a rural area you are the poor relation. If you live in Town you have congestion and if you live on outer town boundaries your exchange has only BT or BT VARS.

You can tell Traffic Shaping Plusnet that you are moving to Sky as soon as their next deal comes up, it was £5 in 2015

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/broadband/2015/09/urgent535-for-a-years-sky-line-rental-and-broadband

In 2016 they offered £61 albeit that they have increased rental from March to June.

I so do not miss the traffic shaping of Plusnet, I do not miss the awful abuse by TalkTalk either.

Surveys? Der sly Sky should know that it is a demographic, people like me have a price point of around £5 a month including line rental and broadband, people who have more money will pay more. If Sky really want to win customers and KEEP customers they should push broadband downmarket and price it at £5 a month including line rental for as long as you stay with them, then create three fibre markets,

    Fibre 1 - 19mb DL and 3mb upload @ £7.50 P/M including line rental
    Fibre 2 - 38mb DL and 9mb upload @ £14.99 P/M including line rental
    Fibre 3 - 72mb DL and 24mb upload @ £29.99 P/M including line rental

This creates a product at all ends of the market and it gives them a better product for their money.

No need for new special offers, they will win and KEEP customers, so can invest in more exchanges.

SORTED.....Rang several numbers to no avail, nobody had any knowledge of the offer.....finally rang an 0800 number, put through to 3 different people, a chap called Matthew has sorted it out, he reckons the email must be part of a "mailshot"....so now got broadband free for second year, and next bill is only £10 because I had paid one month at the full rate.....all I pay now is line rental......if anyone gets one of these email offers, don't just click on it, RING them, it might not happen automatically.....well pleased!!.......Jack.
