Just seen my old design and technology teacher is in Cape Verde at the moment. Have they said if someone can collect it for you? As he's pretty trustworthy and might help out

Yes, they have said someone can collect. What Island is he on and what resort?

  • I'll pm you his name anyway and if it's nearby (or hopefully the hotel) you can message him to see if he can pick it up

I think YOU should message him to remind him who you are and explain what is going on. I know that if I were on holiday and received a request out of the blue to transport valuables for people I didn't know, I would run a mile.

It depends if it's nearby. Might be miles off so if so then it wastes my time messaging him

We returned from Cape Verde last year and used this facebook group:

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/768220693294501/

I'm sure someone would be able to help, but it us whether you would trust a stranger with your item.

Are you seriously going to ask a random tourist to smuggle a ring into the country for you?

I would have gladly collected it if I had been going to Cape Verde.
    Why would it be smuggling?
If the ring was bought here in the UK I don't see anything illegal or secretive about bringing it back into the country that I know of.

It's not smuggling, the ring was purchased here in the UK.
