why do some schools have blazers

Plus some schools are super strict on loads of uniform issues why ?0

I disagree and think blazers are very practical. You usually get two inside pockets, which could be zippered and would be ideal for phones and money which are easily lost or stolen. Breast pocket holds pens and pencils. Side pockets for homework diary, letters home, chocolate, bus pass, lunch card, etc.
They provide reasonable protection against bad weather running between buildings without the bulk of an outdoor coat and can be shrugged off easily and hung on the back of a chair in a stuffy classroom.
School ones will be polyester and machine-washable, but even poly-wool-mix adult blazers can be washed on a cool and gentle cycle.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Still my kids school is far cheaper and practical than a school that insists on ties Blazers and leather school shoes0

If blazers are part of your children's school uniform, it may be best if you address the questions to their school.
If they aren't part of your children's uniform, then why are you wondering about it?
Buy your polo shirts and plain black pumps (and even fake UGGs if the school deems them appropriate footwear) and worry about more important things - like whether your children are getting a good education.0 -

Why?? Because you rarely get a neatly dressed pupil in the correct uniform being naughty!
Just looking at the kids in afterschool detention, all have issues with their uniform!
Why can't kids just wear what they are told and shine through their personality?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Because some schools have standards, the more interesting question is why do some parents believe those standards should not apply to their little 'angels'?0

My kids school does have standards and it's one of the best performing schools in the area0

It's all about aping your betters. Public schools and grammar schools have always worn blazers, shirts., ties which then transfers to adult life as business dress. The hope is that this sort of thinking can transfer to the local bog standard comp.
Of course the really upmarket schools wear fake Uggs, but that's a story for another day.;)0 -

OK - polo shirt, trousers, black pumps = someone who is never going to wear a collared shirt tie and jacket unless they are getting married/in the dock.
And don't forget the Uggs from Primark.
