Hi why do some schools insist on having a tie and blazer uniform surely they are unpractical my kids secondary school have a polo shirt and jumper uniform which is smart and practical. Why don't most secondary schools have a uniform like my kids school?

I'll be honest I thought all schools had a full blazer and tie uniform. I've never seen a school without it around here.0

I can't see the need to put children in a uniform at all, personally..0

I disagree.
Uniform means that everyone looks the same, so no competing for brand names of own clothes, putting pressure on parents to buy such expensive items.
Kids can then be 'individuals' based on their personality, effort etc... which is what should matter.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Hm, I'd say uniform encourages uniformity, which some would say is a good thing.
Uniforms actually cost a lot more than ordinary clothes, and you can always tell which kids come from well to do families and/or get bought new shoes every week0 -
I think uniform is a good thing but polo shirt jumper school trousers and school shoes / plain black pumps my kids wear as school shoes is good enough Blazers and ties are over the top0

My daughter's school has polo shirt and sweatshirt. I hate the polo shirts with a fiery vengeance, mainly because they're white, and so end up grey very quickly, and the collars go funny and won't lie properly.
My son's school has a shirt and blazer, which makes everybody look smart although they are expensive and a pain to wash. The main issue I have with his uniform is that everything has to be branded and badged, right down to the PE socks, which massively increases the cost.0 -
Polo shirts and jumpers are far better than shirts ties and Blazers0

Are you on commission for a polo shirt manufacturer? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
