Not a scam, mearly a tax on idiots.

It's not a tax. It's not a government fee or service.
  • I got my car tax reminder through the post at the end of December which stated that I needed a valid MOT certificate beforehand so what the purpose of sites like that are I have no idea.

Are the DVLA no longer sending reminders in the post? I got one last year.

They still send out reminders - I received one yesterday for VED due at the end of the month. Problems arise when people are too disorganised to let the DVLA know of change of address, so the reminder goes to where they used to live. Honestly, keeping up with due dates for VED, MoT, insurance etc. is not rocket science. Just pop it on your calendar/smartphone/diary.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
  • A scam is where somebody misleads for their own gain.

If you pay £10 for a service, and get said service, it isnt a scam.

Why bother if they send you reminders in the post? I get reminded by letter coming through the door. Or by email for some stuff like insurance. Obviously need to make sure they have the right address/email.

    Its not rocket science mate.
Some people walk through the door, pick up the post and dump it.
They forget about it and when it comes to the weekend will then open up the mail and see whats what.

Others leave it longer. Yes it happens.
