Control panel/power options/change what power button does/turn off fast start-up/save.
Much slower on start up but does now stay off when shut down.
Thanks all who helped.
Fast Start Up uses a form of Hibernation, you are now turning off your laptop completely.
Some devices, hence my question about the mouse, can bring a machine out of hibernation.
I think that while you have found a solution, you have not found what was causing it to start up after shutdown.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Turning off completely is what I would have expected when I pressed shutdown. I presume sleep is what happens when you just shut the lid.
ps I never use a mouse for my laptop.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
