As title, lenovo G50 insists on restarting 5 seconds after pressing shut down. I've unchecked the box for auto restart after system failure. All updates are installed.
Annoying but not too much of a pain just don't like comps beating me.

I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Removing the power supply and battery just after it has shut down would stop it restarting.
Although I accept that probably isn't exactly the most elegant solution.

You should check in the Power Options that hitting the power button shuts down the computer. It may be sending it to sleep, the default setting on mine. I have to change it, but it's an easy job.0

Try:
device manager - network adapter (double click) - power management - allow this device to wake the computer (untick)
This worked for me.0 -
Thanks, already unticked so no luck.BigCheese2 wrote: »Try:

Have you got a mouse connected?
If so, Device Manager | Mouse and look at 'Power management' same as you did for the Network Adapter.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
No, no mouse. However I think I have cracked it (fingers crossed)
Control panel/power options/change what power button does/turn off fast start-up/save.
Much slower on start up but does now stay off when shut down.
Thanks all who helped.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
