I followed a video guide on you tube.
i updated to fix a problem. but because i used odin samsung are refusing to do any repair. even if its hardware fault.
Yes your up the creek with a paddle but I guess you have realised that by now.
You have used software that shouldn't have been used.0 -
Smart Switch replaced Kies for newer models a few years back .
As said the only way you can trip Knox is by a flash of unofficial firmware or recovery or kernel .
When you get the phone back i would try an update of the firmware first . See sammobile for official firmwares .0 -
Sounds like a load of tosh to me.
I've used ODIN over the years and never had problem with KNOX as I've always used Samsung firmware (normally BTU/XEU or NEE)
I've even sent it in for a non-software related repair and all they did was re-flash the network firmware (in addition to the actual repair).
There is an app called something like triangle remove that even removes the knox notification. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Someone i work with advised me to get it inspected by a third party and go from there.
If it was a faulty chip, would that have anything to do with knox?0 -

You'd be wasting your money. Konx is a software 'fuse'. It can only be blown by 'custom' flashing. There's no way to restore it once it's been blown. You obviously didn't intend to blow it, but that's the result of what you've done.
There is no way back from this, I'm sorry to say. Samsung will not touch anything once Knox has been tripped.0 -

Where's my Android 7?!! Just checked there now, and My S7 Edge on EE still thinks it's up to date. If yours was the same, you shouldn't have been looking around for unofficial updates.
I guess whatever that Odin method was sent over 'custom' software. Knox is the security system. This happened AFTER you were having the initial problems, though.
A bit unfair because you only starting poking at the updates AFTER having all these problems. But it's the retailer, Littlewoods, that you should have been dealing with.0
