Putting a password on it won't stop data extraction if it is stolen. It may make it just a fraction more difficult. Why do you think full disk encryption was developed?0

So your argument is because things could be hacked by someone who knows how - let's make it easy for anyone who doesn't too?
Also, if a thief had five stolen laptops and one didn't have password set at all but the others all required one - which will he access first?

Well it probably won't be mine as it does have a password if you read back but when he gets around to it there will be no problem gaining access because Windows passwords can easily be reset.0
