I had pm'd most of the OPs of the wrongly posted comps above (not reg posters who had accidentally used a small e or missed the space after the : ) no one has pm'd back
I've always pm'd new posters to explain the guidelines if they are posting with the wrong format, but I used to edit the wrong titles from the beginning, end and middle of the board anyway on a daily basis to keep the board tidy
I hadn't done any this week which is why they have mounted up, if the Comp Guidelines are guidelines and not rules, should I be editing a title after someone has chosen to post it that way? maybe the Guidelines should say 'this is how you should post a thread title to help sorting of the board, and these are things you could add to your title if you have the time or know these details'
Anyway I can't stand seeing the board a mess and end daters might be missing out on comps so normal service resumed. I've just edited them all and found the end dates where there wasn't one in the titleI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Thanks Glad
does not effect me as I enter as they are posted but can see why end date compers would be a bit annoyed by itThanks to everyone that posts :T:money:

As has been pointed out, it seems there are two issues here which are getting mixed up.
This post is about titling posts correctly so that they appear correctly when sorted for eg. end date comping. Even the lack of a space will result in mis-sorting; I don't end date myself so it doesn't affect me but I can imagine it would be really annoying for end daters. The format for titling a post has always been that way, and I get what people are saying about "I'd sooner the comp was posted any old way that not at all" but imagine if we just abandoned the format and comp posts were titled any old way. It would be chaos. The need for this format is clear to see and follow, and it doesn't take much to stick to it.
The other issue that one or two people seem to be confusing with this, is the request last week to add as much info into a post title as possible. That's not the same thing at all, as even without Twitter, RC etc in the title, as long as it's formatted correctly with the E: xx/xx then it will be easy to sort.0 -
