Excellent idea benjus ... so you sit on the loo and this is fixed near enough to reach ... all I need now is a big toilet to accommodate my big bum 2 hands and a shower head ... must be possible, damn site cheaper as well.

... grenage, good idea as well I doubt I could find someone to do it !

Just sit forward slightly and there should be plenty of room to get the shower head behind you - and you don't need to use both hands...
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

The hand held jet is bog standard in a lot of the world.

The wipe is to dry not clean.

Thermostatic is a first world luxury.

Although the parts of the world where it's standard tend to be somewhat warmer climates, so less need for the thermostatic option.

You can buy a plastic bowl to fit into the top of the bowl. £6 to £10.

I have one of those shower things, which fits on the bath or washbasin monobloc tap, but bought it as a dog shower. The stream can be rather rapid though and quite messy if you point it in the wrong direction.

Take your point on the non flushing of wet wipes roger. I couldn't clean my "walnut" without them, so it is into a little covered container alongside loo, and then disposed of with the rubbish.

Wouldn't a crack wax be cheaper?
    Or something like this:
