Mine was deleted an all for replying to yours, lol.
OP seems intent that the cashier stole the money without any proof though..."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

No callback so rang head office and asked for the surnames of the the HO guy and the cashier as needed full details to report to police!!! HO guy gave me his and said will pass you through to store as no idea what cashiers surname is. Spoke to manager he was not aware of my allegations requested 30 mins to investigate, called me back said till balances and Mrs x is best cashier, but under circumstances will give me the £10 as goodwill gesture
I have the tenner0 -
went to great lengths to show receipt and CD and take this to CS desk to get CD, this receipt is this and that etc!
Dont blame the cashier, it was a mistake, dont acuse anyone of theft. Your wife must also shoulder some of the blame as she asked for the money and forgot about it.0 -
The cashier may have put the money on the counter for her, but your wife just didn't pick it up. In which case anyone could have taken it.When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0

There is the chance also that:
1] your wife did get it/has it/will find it in a week
2] your wife did get it ... then dropped it
All sorts of ways for £10 to go missing.
Anybody know this supermarket's method of giving you the money?
I used to be asked to sign the receipt for it.
Now I sometimes don't get asked to do anything - and/or sometimes the cashier signs their receipt.
All confusing stuff.0 -
Separate posting to say: this worries me no end personally, I am often thinking one day they will genuinely forget to give it to me and I will forget I asked... such pressure at a till these days to finish packing while keying in the pin, straightening the bags into the trolley, grabbing the card/change/cash/receipt and get out of the way as the cashier's already starting shovelling the next person's stuff through....
To my knowledge it hasn't happened to me (yet).0 -
It did happen to me in Morrisons once, but I found out about it almost straight away and went back into the shop. They closed the till, cashed up, and gave me my money when they found they were £10 over. It must be much more difficult if there has been a long lapse of time0

Happened to me the other day, the cashier forgot and thankfully I remembered. Cashiers are human too, you know..."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."
