Effectively a 2 year 3% pa interest account, over double the best fixed rate competitors. I'm in for £6k 😄
  • I opened a second account yesterday but when I log on it doesn't show me the account number to be able to pay my £3k into it. The first 4 digits are shown ****. Unsure if that means the account hasn't opened properly yet. Does anyone else have this on theirs ?

That just means they are in the process of opening the account. You'll probably get an agreement to sign shortly and the account will be operational once they receive it back from you. My girlfriend has exactly this on the account she opened this week.
  • Great news. Over the last 10 days. I have opened 2 accounts. It is now effectively fixed at 3% for the next 2 years.

If something nasty happens within the next two years, that guarantee will soon disappear.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

Mine did the same, but they said I wouldn't be able to use it until I activate my card. Hope it comes quickly.

That's a bit odd- I've never activated my second debit card and have no intention of doing so. The problems last year arose from a/cs which had activated cards..........

Well they must have changed the system then because I opened my second account a few days ago and it definitely says that the the card has to be activated before the account can be used. I can't be certain this was the case with my first account which was opened in September 2016 but I activated the card anyway.

I've just attempted to open a second account as I have funds that could go in it, only to get almost all the way through, declining o/d and cheque book, setting marketing prefs but finally get a "there has been an error" message. It was like that when I set up the first account. Guess if I do want to open it I'll have to call them, again
