    I love it!

New Kitchen, new bathroom, new carpets, curtains and a lick of paint/wallpaper and it would be amazing.

Wonder what the cost of the finishing the swimming pool would be?

Don't know the area - but love the house!

I love the telegraph pole. You would have to go a long way to find another house with such a convenient telegraph pole.

Not too far actually, I'm about 15 miles from there and have one slap bang next to my garage, which is built onto the house! :rotfl: it was the only place to put it when I had the phone line put in ;)

It's had 'careful owners' as I recognise the red carpet; Firth's Buckingham Leaf which we bought in 1972. It was very expensive at £5 a square yard and long ago worn out.

It also has a bidet. If a bidet and a telegraph pole don't tempt you to buy it then frankly nothing will!

MMMm having moved from a fab house which we had spent loads on, was done to perfection, but was on a busy main road. I would say no matter what the cost to renovate, no matter how cheap you will regret the road noise.

Sitting in garden is never nice, or relaxing when you hear the lorries going past.!
Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A

The road noise is not a problem for me. We currently live by the A11 so used to it and before then lived very close to the A14. It's definitely not under offer. I am interested in the house yes, I haven't quite decided if I like it enough. We will be making lots of changes if we go for it. We'll be changing the layout, completely stripping, renovating and updating it. We will be there for upto 10 years or more.
There's another one I really like in Caston but that will need extending to suit our needs... Compromises... Thanks everyone. Food for thought for me over the weekend

Interesting that you don't mind being beside the main road. However, bear in mind that eventually you will want to sell, and a lot of potential buyers will be put off by the road. The current vendors are clearly finding it difficult to sell.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Everyone seems to be telling you why they wouldn't buy it, but not answering your question! It's a fantastic size, and assuming survey is ok I think just cosmetic work would make it stunning (carpets, kitchen, bathroom upgrade). With that in mind, and the fact the agent is practically begging for an offer I'd go in at £350k. Good luck!

That house is a pure disaster internally. The only thing I'd keep is the pool and garden, and probably the walls and roof. Budget for a total refit - I would also change the layout, the stairs, the whole shooting match.

So budget to spend about £150k on renovations (including triple glazing) and offer very low.

My question is whether that is low enough, bearing in mind the difficulty in selling again?
