  • I switched from TOTO energy to Peoples Energy in October 2018. I provided both suppliers with a final read for my gas & electric. When I received my final bill the estimated gas read was considerably out. I am still waiting for my refund from TOTO which is actually quite a bit of money. I call & email but am no closer to an answer as to when I will receive my refund. I always check my finances & that I am on the best tariffs but this has seriously made me question doing this again.
  • First, I had I don't know how many calls from them asking me to install a smart meter, once a month for maybe a year.

Then they took two payments out of my account for 'estimated next years usage', money I could not afford, but they took it!!!

Having closed my dual account with these folk because of that I've been chasing my account closure debit for months. Simply non-responsive, awful company to do business with. I'm still waiting...

    My advice ''''''''STAY WELL CLEAR'''''''''
  • Hi All
I have just received my refund from toto energy after waiting 7 months I ended up going through the ombudsman to get this result otherwise I would be still waiting. Toto energy is very quick to take your money via direct debit my advise to anyone if you are changing from toto to another supplier cancel your direct debit as your account will probably be in credit and at least they won’t be able to take any more monies from you

Same old story here, switch from toto begining of Feb, but they still took out the DD end of the month. I have submitted 2 tickets with no reply in 2 months, i have now gone through resolver to hopefully get my refund.

Kath.ted, did you use Resolver or another method?

I would warn anyone from starting an account with TOTO. I switched to them but by the end of my contract they were no longer giving competitive prices so I switched to Avro.
My final account with TOTO showed that there was over £480 credit due to me and they told me it would be paid within 28days. They then told me this had been readjusted to £425 because of some extra usage in the final month and this would be paid to me within 28 days (in November 2018).
I have received nothing despite many emails and a few phonecalls (they are almost impossible to contact on the phone). They must be in financial troubles, or, at the best, very inefficient...

Same here, i was due £240, then they kept changing the totals and said there was a dispute with Avro over the reading and know they say i owe them £196 which they have taken from my account today, i Switched in February! How they come to the decision and difference over £400 is beyond me! as they gave me a refund in December and have been over charging me to what was on my energy meter since i have been with me, this is a total fraud and i have dated pictures of each month, so i have all the evidence, i just don't know what route to go down now. This is also taking up a lot of my time and stress
  • I finished my contract with TOTO in Aug 2018. We agreed that they then owed me £425 and they said they would pay it back within 28days. Despite phonecalls - its almost impossible to get through to them on the phone - and many emails I have received nothing nearly 10months later.
So I would not recommend them to anyone.
  • Moved to them on April 2018, on a 1 year pay in advance contract,

They took £895 out in April, then tried again in May, ( I called my bank who enforced the Direct Debit guarantee and pulled it back in less than 2 mins - Well Done First Direct :) )
Beacuse I cancelled the Direct debit, TOTO moved the contract from DD to payment on demand and added 2 lots of Termination fees @ £43 ea.
Those took 6 months to remove.
When it came to April this year I started the move process on the 15th April ( Contract end date was 24th) , they added more cancellation fees... Even tho my actual end date was the 1st May 2019..

Have been arguing for months now their final bill is wrong, they claim £167.37.
I've raised with the ombudsmen service and awaiting there outcome.
In the mean time TOTO have ignored that and sent to debt collection agency.

The Math is not that difficult...
    Unit rate Standing charge
    Elec(p/kwh 0.10627 0.175
    Gas (p/kwh) 0.0269 0.175

    Elec Gas
    24 April 2018 30664 7800
    25 April 2019 38410 8100
    7746 300
    Days 849 Volume conversion factor x 2.83
    366 868.22 Volume correction x 1.02264
    34207.92 Calorific value x 39.4
    KWH 7746 9502.20044 Convert to kWh ÷ 3.6

    Amount used £ £823.17 £255.61
    Standing Charge £64.05 £64.05
    sub total £887.22 £319.66
    Add VAT 5%) £931.58 £335.64

    Total used 24 april 18 to 25 april 19 £1,267.22

    25th April to 1st May (inc vat) £9.57 3.59
    subtotal £13.16

    Total used = £1,280.38
    Payments made:
    24/04/2018 £875.85
    23/01/2019 £13.47
    09/02/2019 £136.20
    25/03/2019 £163.30
    £1,188.82

    Total owed to TOTO: £1280.38 - £1188.82 = £91.56
  • I am another ex Solarplicity customer who now finds themselves with Toto.
All I have received is a welcome email from Toto.

Today a direct debit for £25 in favour of Toto went out of my bank account.
I have never given Toto my bank details nor have Toto ever informed me that they were even setting up a DD.

Due to Solarplicity trying to quadruple my payments (I didn't owe them anything they had it wrong, something hundreds will know they are prone to do. I cancelled the DD in February.

I can only think Solarplicity have given my bank details to Toto who have taken it upon themselves to set up a DD.

I have rang my bank and had the £25 refunded, DD cancelled and a stop on Toto setting up a another DD.

I would urge others to keep an eye on your bank accounts!!

Toto is turning out to be an absolute shower of a company. I had that "Welcome to Toto" email and promising that my Solarplicity tariff would remain unchanged. The minute I found the unit & standing charges would see my annual bill increase by 50%, I initiated a switch.

New supplier has attempted to take over three times so far, each time Toto has raised an "objection". Each time I have had to ring Muppet Central in Brighton (a.k.a. Customer (dis)services) and have been given an assortment of excuses.
Excuse No.1 - OFGEM rules say you can not switch for 21 days. Crap, no such rule.
Excuse No.2 - We don't have all the meter details from Solarplicity yet - Not my problem, get it sorted.
Excuse No.3 - Our system automatically raises an objection and we can not override it - bølløcks. Every system can be overridden. Fix it.

Fortunately, I never had a DD set up with Solarplicity, so if Toto somehow manage to dip in to my account, I will take it up with the fraud dept. at my bank. Haven't had a bill from either Solarplicity or Toto in the last two months, so just waiting to see what ballsup they make of billing.
Her courage will change the world.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.
