Morning (((((((((( hugs )))))))))) if you need one. special hugs to Camelot.
Another one who had a dreadful night, I just could not get off, so made tea and read for an hour. Did not hear the alarm go off, woke when OH shook me with the breakfast tray in his hand.
We are off round the corner shortly to the little chapel for coffee, not sure how many will be there, P said she would be coming.0 -
Good morning,
nmlc thank you for starting our thread.
Camelot, my condolences for the loss of your friend, my prayers are with her family and friends.
Karcher enjoy your duvet day, once in a while they are truly needed!
TA I don't remember about your DD's friend but it is good to know that a proper remembrance service will be held for her, and for the sake of her children. It is very kind of your DD to arrange and pay for it.
How many sleepless people last night! Can I join in the sleepless club? My right hip gave me hell most of the night and I have hardly slept. It did not help that I thought it was my turn to cook breakfast at the night shelter so I was up at 6, after going to bed after 11pm last night.
Turns out it was not my turn but they have such a need of morning volunteers, and I only live across the road, that I will do the next 7 weeks, whether it is my turn to cook or not. When not cooking I will take orders and wash up afterwards, and take laundry back home. It feels good to be able to help a bit.
Manic day today! After the shelter breakfast, just back home and had breakfast myself with DH, then 11am Pilates, then 12:30 soup lunch (glad I am not cooking!) and 2 pm our OS meet up. will have to leave around 4:30pm because at 5:30 I have my first gym visit with the Healthwise programme and really don't want to miss it.
This is a GP referral exercise scheme and if you are accepted you end up paying £13.50 per month for all-day gym membership, including unlimited classes, at all the gyms in the borough. It is fantastic value and they run special Healthwise classes, like the one I am attending today, for people who are less able-bodied or who needs adaptations for their health condition. I got accepted because of my dodgy hips and because I need to lose weight before my op.
Speaking of weight, yesterday I joined WW, had found a voucher that gave me 1 month online and in person for £15, it will give me a good idea whether it is for me or not. With their new programme it seems to be more flexible, my main fear is the very low fat diets, they never seem to work for me. But having had a good look at the booklets and the online food calculator, I can see that if I eat a fair amount of eggs and oily fish I can sneak some fat in the diet, also if I eat occasional full fat cheese. Because I eat mostly plant foods, which are zero points, I can also use a lot of my allowance to add oil and nuts to my meals.
Ok, time's up, gotta go.
Have a good day. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Camelot, I'm very sorry about your friend. Dumpling, what the others said, don't ever worry about venting here if it helps.
Tru, I feel your pain, why can't people follow a plan, enjoy your morning with LM and wish him happy birthday from OS (that will confuse him).
I'm having another lazy start, contemplating the fact that my chest is slowly getting worse and if it doesn't improve today I shall have to go to the dr. I'm annoyed iwth myself because I've been eating all the wrong things the last couple of days and as a consequence my weight loss in January was only 3lbs.I keep telling myself that if I do that every month by the end of the year I will have lost over 2st and be the weight I want to be, but I am so impatient.
I had a message from the National Lottery, which I do online, just the Euromillions, one lucky dip. If you win anything they send a message saying "There is news about your ticket". For the time it takes to log into the account visions of the children being free from money worries and trips to the south seas to get away from the world fill my head. Unfortunately £6.30 doesn't quite go that far.0 -
Good morning all,
Quick check-in from me as I've been at a networking event earlier this morning so lots to catch up on.
Spend day for me today as I've had to get some bits from Asda and I'm playing footie tonight.
I'll check back later and get through everyone's posts.
Have a lovely day.0 -
Another member of the sleepless club! I slept downstairs as I was sniffling and sneezing but the hound woke me up when she got up shaking her head and scratching her ears so will have to start her back on her eardrops as she seems prone to it.Needless to say I couldnt get back off for a couple of hours.DH alarm woke me as he'd left it down here.I went back upstairs and had an extra 2 hours once he was ready for work.DGS was sniffly too yesterday and didnt play too much, was content to watch cartoons or the live entertainment of the diggers etc at the front of the house.
I had to bung all the stuff in for a slow cooker curry quickly when I came down so it'll be cooked.DGD coming for tea.I think we have an evening off from little people tomorrow.the 1st since last Friday. She is having a bit of trouble with one of her classmates, name calling etc and throwing her earmuffs in the mud. They knew each other already from pre school. We've all told her to ignore it,then she says yes but it makes me cryShe's told someone at school, not sure who & told to stop telling tales.I know its prob 6 of 1,1/2 doz of the other but she seems so bright I don't want it to put her off school.DS has had a quiet word with her parents when they were both at a party, but that obv didnt work as she said 'your Daddy's stupid' yesterday.Wouldnt care but she's a tiny little thing,& DGD being big for her age nearly makes 2 of her but she is very soft hearted.
I'm not doing anything today but I think I'll have to cancel my voluntary stint at school tomorrow, which I dont like doing. Also my best friend from school was meant to be coming on Friday as its been her birthday this week and we usually go out for lunch, but I don't want to pass this cold on
Jackie-enjoy your brunch with DGS
Camelot, how sad to hear your news ,hugs
Dumpling hugs to you too.
TA,that is so kind of DD and friends.

Camelot sorry for the loss of your friend.
Dumpling I don't think people who have never suffered with MH problems ever fully appreciate just how debilitating they are. Unfortunately this also includes doctors, in my experience. Coping vibes for you and your DDs.
TA it's good that your DD's friend will be getting a proper Farewell from those who actually care about her.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon - I've had a sort of rubbish morning with one student who just wanted to be a PITA, but all the rest were lovely so I'm going to keep the idiot out of my mind and think about the others. Actually, I've sent him a curt email saying I'll exclude him if he carries on anymore. Had enough and the others are being disrupted.
I had to buy milk as the lot I had in the fridge was sour, no idea why as it was within date. So no breakfast cuppa at home this morning. I treated myself to a honeydew melon which is now chopped up ready to eat. My lovely neighbour will be here with his young son soon - I'm a Wednesday after-school stop for half an hour before swimming lesson. It's not worth their while driving all the way home up a two mile track just to come down again five minutes later, so I get a delicious time with a four year old. He'll love some melon.
Fire is blazing away. Paperwork for last semester finished and saved to CD, it'll go the internal verifier tomorrow. I feel content!0 -
Camelot - sorry to hear your sad news on the loss of your friend.thinking of you0

Afternoon everyone.
Hugs to those that need them and my condolences to camelot[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif].
Unfortunately been laid low with a meniere's flare up so apart from dealing with my on-line delivery have been mainly snoozing. I thought I'd picked up my Dad's bug but thanfully not. No real plans for the rest of the day though need to pack up my faulty vac-packer for collection tomorrow. Plans to make corned beef hash have been shelved to another day and dinner later will be something I can bung on a tray and/or nuke.
Hopefully I'll be more steady on my feet tomorrow
