Extractor fan in new kitchen not doing a good job

Yes, charcoal filter not in it as we have a large silver cylinder running 5ft along top of units taking it out through the wall into a chimney breast that's hidden there.
How well ventilated is that chimney breast?
has it been capped
We've used a piece of kitchen paper towel and it sucks it up tight against the extractor.
still check the recirculation setting
Forgot to mention steam also creating water droplets on mesh of the extractor, dropping back down onto induction hob,
I even thought maybe is it the induction hob because it heats up quicker and seems to boil faster....may sound stupid but trying to think of everything
Turn them down no need for rapid boiling for most things.
How warm do you keep your kitchen?
If cool then condensation will be worse0 -
Pretty sure its been fitted the wrong way round. Lights are normally at the back, not the front.
365m3/h is not sufficient with an induction hob, especially if you are ducting out into a chimney breast. You are most likely going to end up dumping moisture into the chimney breast rather than extracting it outside the house. This could cause mold growth. We’ve had to remove your signature. In that case I would contend the following possibilities-
Make sure its set to extract rather than recirculate
Make sure that the run is no more than 3m and a kink free smooth 5inch duct (this includes the run in the chimney stack)
If its a longer run, you are probably not going to get much joy. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Assuming it is set to extract, I too would be concerned about venting into the chimney. How can you be sure where the humid air is going? The fan will push the air along to the chimney but what pushes the humid air out of the chimney? Are you just hoping it will float up and away? When it hits the cold walls of the chimney, the moisture will condense. I fear you will end up with problems in the chimney as a result of damp.0

Thanks yes, that's the one. Lights shown at front in Howdens brochure as well. What I cannot understand in book it has extraction rate at 365 per hour, but in this manual I've downloaded states 220 per hour0 -

There is a 5 ft run from extractor to the chimney breast.
Chimney is capped, while kitchen was completely empty extra airbricks were put in chimney breast and there was a strong draught from it.0 -
Our last kitchen was in 22 years and our hob was across a corner, with a fake corner artexed chimney above it with the extractor in it. While we thought that was extracting into the chimney breast, what those fitters had actually done was put it under the floorboards of the bathroom cupboard above No wonder we could smell food cooking in the bathroom0

Mine does exactly the same, water drops clean out of it onto whatever's cooking
No help I know0
