There are lots of 'conventional ' payg tariffs about.
    The cheapest is 3 where it's 3-2-1
    3p per minute calls
    2p per text
    1p per Mb of data
And it's 4G and now has wifi calling from certain phones...
  • I have just bought a Vodafone PAYG phone on their winter deals and it saved a lot of money on the RP. The only downside is that to get this deal you have to by a bundle which only lasts for 30days for £10.Even with this I still saved a lot of money compared with the same phone at Carphone Wharehouse. All I need to do is get a free unlock after 30 days and then I can put my 3 card in the phone and all back to normal. If I had carried on with Vodafone I could have topped up the phone with them for as little as a £5 and this would have lasted as long as it took me to use it. It is just a case of reading the info and acting accordingly. I have to say this was explained to me by the chap in the shop so he wasn't trying to dupe me or anything.

Three or ASDA seem to be the cheapest for light users who don't want a contract.

No idea if their data is the cheapest though.

Why Asda ? they charge 8p a.minute. Quite a few cheaper

Three , ID charge 3p a minute. TPO 4p a minute. New O2 Payg Service 5p a minute. Talk Mobile 10p for up to 59 minutes. To name a few.

I use 3-2-1 from three and have always thought it's a good deal and normally top up 5 pounds every 10 days on average - i use about 1.5gb data per month, and about 20 minutes per month and about 50 texts per month.

£10 a month gets you 4gb unlimited calls and texts with 3 on a 12 month contract :D

Not so keen on the idea of being on contract - i travel overseas quite a bit and once had a huge bill which I would never get on payg as i can only spend up to my topup amount. You only need one big bill to wipe out all those 5 pound a month savings - also some months i only add 2 lots of 5 pounds rather than 3

You could save money. There are some pay-as-you-go bundle deals with more minutes, more texts and more data than you currently use for less money than you currently pay.

i would be happy as long as they dont use the vodafone or o2 networks as have had problems with using 3g/4g on them in the past - ee is not so bad but they have an odd pricing structure where "bundles" are compulsory for data
