BT price hike

Options
A couple of weeks ago I renewed my BT line saver line rental and my Infinity 1 broadband with anytime calls.

At no time was I advised that the prices were increasing

Reading the recent beat the bt price hike emai, it looks like I can leave BT penalty free once they write to me.

I think I'll still be stuck with the line rental but I'm sure I could get a better deal with the broadband.

Have I got this right or am I barking up the wrong telephone pole?:D

    What are you thinking?
  • I called them after the price rise last year and got a cracking deal on my broadband so definately go for it.
  • I got a refund of my line rental saver a few years back when I left due to a price increase on calls and caller display. It took a letter of complaint but that was all.

It would appear the answer is Yes !

Either that, or he hates people who haggle.

Just received news of BT's hike £2.50 month but they seem to have merged my two together: broadband and line rental.

Am I correct in assuming I can walk away from the contract without pelenty because of the hike? They say they haven't increased line rental just merged the two.

To be honest I'm pretty happy with BT but does this give me an opportunity to haggle and maybe get a better deal. What would I be asking for?

    Many thanks for you advice
  • Can anyone advise if the price hike will affect me?
I joined BT in December, but as yet have not received any communication advising of price increase.
    Any advice appreciated!
    Thanks in advance

Yes it seems everyone will be affected, even if they signed up a week before the price increase was announced.
  • Thanks Marcio

Anyone else not received notification of price hike?
  • All customers are facing an increase but if you use this link

    https://www.bt.com/static/wa/account/pricechanges/login/login.html?s_cid=con_FURL_myprices

login to see the increases that affect you but look further down there is a button to press for special offers. ( looks like an advert window)

My sister just got Infinity 2 for £18.50 a month + anytime calls at £5.99 by using that link.

She was paying £24.50 for infinity 2 and £6.50 for anytime calls so a cheaper deal.
