Thanks applemuncher. I had a lapse though and thought " ah well, it's a spend day anyway...." and we got a brew each at the cafe for £4.60. If I have a slip with spending I tend to think I've spent anyway and spend more! Must get out of that habit.
Our prenatal appointment went well, next ones the 20 week scan - can't wait to see what we're having
Cheap tea tonight - omelette beans & toast- yum!
Still enough in to make veg soup, homemade pizza, frozen lasagne. Will do a shop tomoroow but only need to buy the odd bit so should be way under our food budget againStill need to order our £30 of meat with our voucher so that'll keep us going well into March. Food is usually where we overspend so really chuffed we're managing to cut back in that area. We've not thrown anything away either this week. I keep checking the fruit & veg drawers to make sure I have plans for everything.
This week I'm grateful for:-
Hearing our babys heartbeat
Having my haircut tomorrow - my fringe is driving me mad!

Spendy day for me. Tried to be organised yesterday but the late food delivery time meant I still had no sandwich/ food to go so had to spend on that. Walked to local history. Partner had another appointment at noon, which gave me an extra hour, so took the decision to get a taxi to mum's and then one from mum's to the infirmart for my appointment.
This meant I had a good couple of hours with mum (wasn't happy having the conversation on the phone). Sorted the arrangements for tomorrow (aunt's funeral) Mum will meet me and my brother at the church. Brother is only going to the church. I have to try and get mum into the church (in the family pews - been doing mental calculations on the order of precedence to work out where to put her). She will then decide if she is well enough to carry on to the crematorium (run round finding places in the cars). I have been through the phone controls this morning so I can order mum a taxi home from the church/ crematorium.
The second thing I needed to talk to mum about was her partner. Last week the 2 members of his family + his social worker decided on respite care or him going to day care every day M-F. Mum took no part in the decision and she sounded really down when I spoke to her later.
I asked mum outright if she had had enough (5 pairs of trousers last Friday and she is not at all well) and said I would be the 'baddie' and tell his family if she wanted me to. Daily day care has now started and his family know this is the last stage - if/ when it doesn't work he will need to go into care. He had hidden under the bedclothes and refused to get up this morning - the carer washed him in bed but he then got up and went in the bus.
Once again come home with more work than I went with. An old girlfriend had sent some photographs of my (deceased) brother + some of my other brother's wedding (DS1 as very sweeet 2yo pageboy). In the same bag she had another pile of paperwork relating to probate and selling my brother's house so I have taken charge of that (I thought i had all the official stuff) and will combine it with my file when I can.
Today I am grateful for food deliveries, for paying for taxis so I could see mum (she gave me a fiver so spent a net 80p on those - still not updated signature, need yesterday's receipt) and for not having to spend money on a pair of black gloves - hunted out a pair from DS3's cosplay stash (probably where mine disappeared to).My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Haven't had chance to post in the last couple of days, tuesday I put a bedside table together for a friend (stabbed myself in the finger with the screwdriver in the process) had a couple of NSDs, but today was a big spendy day.
£21.69 in grocerys, which included a few cleaning products & dog food. And £43.00 in misc, a much needed dog coat (Duncan has outgrown his first coat), new lead, doggy toothbrush & doggy shampoo.
I do need to buy myself a new music book, I need one more piece to perform for my Grade 8 exam, but I still haven't decided which piece I want to play, so I will hold off and have a google.
Had my lesson today, and then the usual visit from my bestie. Whipped up my first ever banana bread (positive reactions from my testers) and had a good couple of hours on my game. Good day.
I am grateful for:
Slowcooker dinners, successful banana bread & Skyrim

I seem to be doing this in a different way to everyone else, perhaps it's because my ship isn't watertight and there's no point in rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic...
Expected spendy day today to pay for counselling, also went to grab some food to "pay in" a Nectar points voucher and use a triple points voucher.
£15 to renew my multi trip travel insurance.
However... those leaks are still being plugged. I found a broadband deal via MSE which will save me at least £20 per month on broadband and line rental and that's for unlimited data like I have now. Since I rarely use my landline, it will be no hardship to force myself to use the call allowance on my mobile.
And things are underway to finalise the change of gas and leccy supplier.
Thankul for:
Tenacity.
An extra day or half day at work next week.
