Good to see you back posting again. I used to follow your diary and was really impressed with the way you were tackling your debt. I have no doubt that you can get back on the right road again. This has been a difficult time for so many so don't be so hard on yourself. Get that pen and paper out and see what needs to be done. If you need any advice you know you are in the best place.

    Thankyou so much moneywhizz

i do know I can get the wheels back on the tracks and today I've actually felt a bit more positive again.   The suns been shining and I sat in the garden with trusty pen and paper and know that we can get ourselves back out of this hole.
Payday for me tomorrow and already I know exactly how much is going out and how much is left.

I've written down all DDs and SOs and the dates they go.    As they go I will tick them off so I know that's paid for another month and so on.

Tomorrow morning I will add some funds to our savings pots (however small the amount).  This will hopefully give me a little boost too.

Having the balls to come back on here and admit we've cocked up has helped so much.  I think my head is now back out of the sand  :)

    Morning all

Well I was awake at 4.30  :o.  I think all this money business was playing on my mind.  Anyway I have checked DDs and SOs ticked them all off my list.   The ones that are still to be paid I have the money set aside for.

Topped up gas and electric. Paid TV licence. I have set aside grocery money and have topped up savings pots.  Only by £10-£20 but at least it’s something.

    Feeling much better this morning

Sounds like you are off to a good start again. You will start to see the figures come down soon enough and find your motivation again. It is hard to stay on track when its a long journey so make sure you build in some spending money your budget. Just being able to spend/or save a bit for yourself can keep you from having a blow out. Well done for coming back.

It's fab to see you back and you can so do this.  This isn't a competition but you're so far ahead of the vast majority who don't even realise that they need to be in a different place; give yourself credit for that, your determination and courage.  Looking forward to cheering you on.  Humdinger x

Thank you so much all  o:)

still feeling positive at the moment.  Have been gardening to keep busy and have spent loads of time out there, more than we’ve ever done to be honest.   Even hubby is enjoying the garden and makes a nice change from sitting in front of the tele.   It’s helping massively with weight loss too.  Yay a free workout

as for the spending money we had a time where we had this organised but something else we’ve let slide.  Definitely need to sort this one as it certainly helped.

Thanks again for all your positive comments it helps massively

    Afternoon diary world

have been getting my knickers in a big fat twist of late and totally lost all faith in myself.  Started to panic and got onto payplan and stepchange, came close to filing for bankruptcy and signing up to an IVA.   oh God what a !!!!!!.
Ive lost my mojo and nearly lost the plot too. Constant headache and stressing myself out over the past couple of days.

Onto today,  I have contacted creditors (again) online vis their chat options etc to explain our mess and asked if I can push the restart button so to speak.  I must admit they have all been very supportive and understanding.   I've accepted the fact that we've taken steps backwards and am now planning to start moving forward again  :*
    plan B,C,D,E,F,G and so on.
    Payday Wednesday so:
    • redo financial statement
    • pay token payments to creditors (hopefully giving it 6 months until the year is out to allow us to build our car fund and emergency fund pots).
    • start to build EF and car pots
    • add bits to savings pots
    • budget for groceries using cash again as it's too easy to take your eye off the ball with this one.
    • batch cook
    • Write letters to creditors explaining the situation. Will take forever as I'm not at work and don't have access to a printer.  It will be worth it I hope.
I need  to write down everything again as this helped massively too. I have a book and pen ready.
Kicking myself for getting back to this point but we've been on top of it before it we can do it again.

i have got myself a new shiny teaspoon and I am going to start emptying that lake again  :)

Been reading lots on the DFW thread too.  Stealing ideas and gaining some positivity from it.
another long winded post I'm sorry but the positivity is creeping back in and I need to hold onto it if I am to survive mentally

Don't be hard on yourself as these are unprecedented times. No one knew this was going to happen and the effect it would have.

Use your teaspoon and remember the lake will get smaller x
