Which other shopping app makes it so hard to use? - None. Why can't they link the three elements? I have similar with JL and Waitflower, and with various parts of the RHS, but at least they don't ban any password you have ever used.

I've done jury duty twice and I think we came to good decisions in a good way on both occasions. It wasn't easy and there were some 'interesting' personalities on one of the juries (one could well have been friends with T Robinson), but we got there and used the evidence (or lack of) in both cases. How were the people picked for the juries on the show? Presumably not completely randomly from the whole population - TV producers will have gone for interest/entertainment value I imagine? Even if only to some extent.

I suspect the Jury programme might be very near the truth.   I once asked a barrister at a party how she coped with defending criminal cases where she knew or at the very least suspected the person was guilty.  It was such a fascinating conversation, I was in awe of her ability to separate.  She explained it was not a matter of guilt but "the law".    If the other side presented compelling evidence she had to use "the law" for her client.   The law suggests "reasonable doubt" that there is no other explanation for the facts.  So she used "the law" .   And if found guilty at appeal she would use the law in the same way, what evidence was there to suggest the sentence was harsh, unfounded and so on.   Fascinating and I never want to be involved with cases ever again

No wonder the barristers were appalled.  They are presenting evidence and they, according to this woman believe in "the law" with an almost religious fervour.  The rest of us go for instinct, gut feelings, opinions.

Great news on the insurance btw.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

I've just posted this on the Grocery Challenge thread so do feel free to swipe past...

I suggested DH go to Sainsbugs yesterday (told him to buy replacement T shirts, as they do his size XXX [he is so long in the back and would be 6'10" if his legs were in proportion!] B ). He proudly told me he interrupted a woman picking up the Aldo's price matched cauliflower (£1.09) and showed her the market street ones for 75p. She was furious with Sainsbugs, delighted with this and it made his morning by reinforcing that they were bigger, better quality and fresher too! Did he tell her his wife spotted this online and impressed on him the importance of getting the right one? No. He took the credit and was still feeling a tiny bit smug when he got home. He omitted to tell me about Pork-shoulder-gate though...

So this morning I went through the two food shopping receipts to find multiple Pork Shoulder joints - 7 of them! I was in the process of having kittens as I read down the receipt and then realised that five had been cancelled. I asked. Once again, he was about to pick up one large, Necker points and one smaller (Aldo's price match). He was using smart shop to get the Necker prices and when he wanted to cancel the more expensive Aldo's it added it instead, so he went to Customer Services and they added a third, tried again, 4th, someone else, 5th, got the hang of it and removed the five Aldo's PM and we were left with the two Necker joints. A little bigger than I planned but we can always freeze some!

And then I wonder why he doesn't volunteer to shop more often!!

I've really lost patience with Sainsbugs since the Nectar prices nonsense. In our store what this means is "Buy the product at the price we've inflated it to, and then we'll give you a coupon for the equivalent money off on your next shop" - which doesn't work with  my budget, doesn't suit my shopping pattern (I used to go there once a month or so as it's completely in the wrong bit of town for us) and frankly isn't what they are advertising that they are doing. As a result I pretty much never go there any more.

MILD cheddar though RT? Goodness - I'm surprised you're not booting him out of the house!

On my own today and tomorrow morning so I am going to be busy. I need to be out in an hour, to go for bee chatter and late breakfast and then walk our dog. I might walk him round the next village to stop my ankle twisting in the fields where he usually goes with DH. DH has gone off to his bike club AGM and will go for curry and beers afterwards, staying overnight, and expected back around mid-day to clear the dining room ready for a roast for DS and GF.

I want to prune one (more) apple tree that I can now get at after the trellis has been cut down that was preventing access to it, and rake up all the missed cuttings that are on the grass. Two apple trees have failed but I will leave their removal to the gardener, and I might plant a few seeds that are due in March. Tomatoes, chillies, peppers and sweet peas are all in the heated propagator and root training seed tray.

I've also got an admin frog to sort out (well three...) and loads of revision to do, ahead of my exam in two weeks time (eek!)

I also need to go and feed some bees - four hives at the farm and one at the farm house.

Supper will be soup and bread I think. Cake could feature this afternoon too... What I suspect might be the last hurrah as I went for my asthma check yesterday and the nurse suggested I make a Physio appointment (my ankle) and I mentioned I have not had any bloods taken for ages... 2013 was my last health check so I have booked one with a health care assistant in two weeks. They will do a cholesterol check (finger !!!!!!, non-fasting) and could follow up with bloods. Being TFFFP (that is too-fat female, fifty plus) I fit the diabetes risk profile but have never been tested. So that is the last week of March and I intend cutting down on sweet things and cheese things before then. For now though, it is time to get on.

    Have a good weekend!
