I picked a few bits when DH took the dog out but otherwise a very slow, inactive day with my painful ankle elevated and bandaged. It is a bit better this morning. I shall strap it again as I have more picking to do and I'm determined to weed some paths. No bees were visited but I might go today. Thanks re the ankle everyone. I have strapped it again this morning. I'm wondering what is aggravating it but definitely a soft tissue issue or it wouldn't have improved so quickly.
We are off out to get our haircuts - our barber uses the former school in the next village and we both get done there. It was only when I first went I had to ask him not to shave the back of my neck again! Both for £25 normally - mine takes ages as it is still thick, thanks to HRT
The plan then is for both of us to go over to DS's house and prepare the kitchen floor for re-tiling! So much for getting ahead with packing the motorhome. The dog was sick on my side of our bed this morning so an interval while I sponged and dried the (latex) mattress and stripped and attempted to remove the stains and residual yukkiness.

Quick pop back to get showered, and one washing load (solar powered) on the line and the second load; non white duvet cover and pillowcases, my nightie (yes, I say in it) and the towel I sat on to dry the mattress after sponging to reduce the stain, also washed and pegged out to dry in the sunshine. I also have the DW running on this sunny day!
I've prepared and stuffed a squash I was given for tonight's supper - I think it is a Tatuma. The rest of the filling will come away in our motorhome as an option of the weather is pants this weekend. A bag of tagliatelle and some grated cheese. It's the standby meal. We will BBQ and have salad for one, and plan a pub meal when the weather is not great. I can't remember if I said, meeting our friends in their motorhome, just for a quick weekend between our two homes. Only about 35-40 minutes away.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Thanks @beanielou I'm in minor prep at the moment, filling the drinking water 10L container with filtered water to take. I never quite trust the water from the taps in our van as the pipes sit there for sometimes months between our trips. Not so this time but it is habit. We can refill the water container from the campsite tap if we run low. We do fill the freshwater tank when we get there, so there is plenty for washing, showering, washing up and cooking.
I have made a list for work to be undertaken at DS's house, to be honest, whether we sell it or not. It was the first time I have been to the house since before the pandemic (always excuses not to meet there) and I was frankly, shocked by the state of it. It is absolutely filthy and a complete tip. I had a difficult conversation with him yesterday evening, he was very defensive. I think the relationship between him and the lodger has broken down. They are in a sort of Mexican stand-off with regard to cleaning and I know DS struggles with being untidy, but this is not helped by the lodger monopolising the washing machine, (and much of the house) every day. DS managed to do two loads yesterday. He will be cat sitting for us this weekend so I suggested he bring all his stuff here and washes it during the day, using the solar power and gets it line dried and up to date. A sneaky look in the third bedroom and it is filled with black bags, and clothes maybe 15 cm deep all over the floor. I made no attempt to see their bedrooms. I made no reference to this in our conversation. We need to contact the guy who painted our house last year, to ask how much of the work he can do. I won't list it at this point but I think DH found it useful to have me there and my logical approach to how we might tackle the main parts calmed his sense of panic.
I need to get dressed and pick the fruit and veg next or we will return to a barren wasteland as DS never remembers - well intentioned as he is. I nearly lost all my cucumbers after he forgot for four days then drowned them on the fifth. Picking is just missed as he is not thorough and if you don't keep picking, it sets seed and dies!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Shaved neck, I hate that. I went to a new hairdresser for a bob and she gave me an inverted bob and shaved the back of my neck - the feeling was yuk. Hope your weekend went well."Think of many things, do one"

Oh my! I picked a 600g tray (you know, the big flat trays that have strawberries or 6 chops on them) of tomatoes, one of purple beans, one of green runner beans, 12 courgettes (at last!) and a 400g punnet each of raspberries and blackberries. Then DH picked about another 3k of Victoria plums. He is sat outside now, peeling shallots so I can pickle them for the winter. 6 recycled jars ready for the pickles. Plus I have added another 8 bags to our produce freezer. I have ten 500ml kilner jars out ready to be filled - I'm going to stew some windfall apples with plums.
