If anyone on here should worry about appearing smug then I guess it is me. I have never been in debt, but that is mostly because I couldn't. Paid off my mortgage 20 years ago in the second half of my 50s. But no pension to speak of & what there was crashed just before I was due to take it & then the annuity rates crashed too. I finally took that at 73 when it was half what it should have been at 60. The thing that saved my finances was deferring my state pension for 5 years. Hopefully all on here got their act together much earlier & will not have to do the working on for years thing. So no reason here to feel the slightest bit smug.

Please @foxgloves don't leave us! As with @Suffolk_lass, the world would be infinitely poorer without you!! You both bring out the magic in the everyday...that's partly how the purveyors of intractable debt suck at least some people in...making normal and healthy seem boring. You both ensure that the devil doesn't have all the best tunes. Love Humdinger xx4

Another one voting for all of you to stay!! If people don’t like it, they don’t have to read it. We all find our little niches where we feel comfortable and have friends - the boards are so wide ranging and diverse, I don’t think it really matters where you live!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Definitely stay! There are quite a few diaries that I read where the people are now debt and mtge free but retain their original home (whether that be dfw or mfw) - I don't want to leave mfw but haven't had a personal mtge since 2015 - but I like it there!
No one *has* to read your diary - we all do so because we like you and your words - and those of the others who post on here. Anyone who feels differently can just find a diary more akin to what they need/ want to read there are plenty of options on the boards 😀 xI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £208 -
Whole heartedly agree with everything Foxgloves & EH & everyone have said. What should happen is the diary area should be renamed to something more inclusive as they are all support communities, accountability, advice and inspiration in their own rights in different measures as required by those within.
Thank you for allaying my concerns over swarm rehoming, we seem to be going for record numbers of swarms around here *wheres the hands over eyes smilie when you need it* & all the local keepers needed more sites anyway before they've got busy with swarms. I've messaged you on an associated vein- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted

Please don't any of you leave. I find it quite hard to follow systems for budgeting etc and I find it really helpful that you describe the how of it if that makes sense. And also you are lovely and I don't think there is the slightest hint of smugness.5

I feel quite emotional reading all your lovely words, encouraging us to stay. Thank you all so much. It is really appreciated.
I have my snuffly grunty little pup at my feet and he is wearing his cone of shame, having been neutered yesterday. We were briefed by the nurse, imploring us to cut down his food now he will use fewer calories as he is no longer feeding his reproductive organs (). Apparently, at 4.1kg he is the perfect shape, with his ribs visible and a lovely waist. As a Miniature Dachshund his long back predisposes them to spinal problems and it is really important that we don't overfeed him. His 75g across 3 meals with a further 5g of kibble in our pockets up until now, needs to reduce by 5g really. Poor little lad, he is always hungry and defied the suggestion he was not going to want to eat last night. He wolfed down a diluted 15g meal, much of DH's apple and the corner off my toast (the bit with no butter or egg). He has had 20g of puppy kibble in water with the Ibuprofen (4ml) on his food this morning and is asleep at my feet. I might see if I can add a pic...
