Thank you, all of you. I really do appreciate the support. I can't imagine what greent must be feeling, with that possibility of sub-conscious extrapolation. She is very much in my thoughts. I hope her support from her GP is as good as mine is. I know she has all of our support.
Confession time! I have been very naughty and bought (shh) more cookery books - they are 2nd hand from WOB but they are by the very extravagant Barefoot Contessa (Ina Garten) - they sort of jumped into my basket while I was buying our April Book Club book - under £20 but they are very lovelySave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £10,020.92 out of £6000 after September

Did several sticks of butter, some good vanilla extract and some kosher salt leap into your basket too. Not that I've ever watched the Barefoot Contessa...MortgageStart Nov 2012 £310,000

Well I might have those already @LadyGnome . My favourite recipe of hers is her bread and butter pudding with 10 eggs and a pint of heavy cream, made with brioche or challah Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £10,020.92 out of £6000 after September . That is one amazing bread & butter pudding with 10 eggs in. I don't think I would be able to move for a week after that.

What a rocky few days you’ve had. Glad your mind is put at rest. If ever you have deserved to treat yourself to a lovely book, surely it is now.Debt Jan 2017 = £42kMay 2022 = £15k4

@LadyGnome I love that I can hear her voice when I read your posts I may have inadvertently exaggerated! It's 8 eggs, and half-and-half not heavy cream. I did make it. Just once. It was astonishing. I added orange-juice soaked seedless raisins the next time to my own adapted version. Equally spectacular, slightly less extravagant. I may have inadvertently exaggerated! @boxofpaws thank you. We intend a treat this morning after our market visit (taking pup) we intend a cafe brunch. Is it sad that I am so excited?! Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £10,020.92 out of £6000 after September Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £10,020.92 out of £6000 after September

I observed to DH that is he was lonely after I predecease him (theoretical BTW) he could always find another woman by taking his dog to the local market town. It took ages and everyone from the waitresses to people at other tables, to market stall holders, to literally every woman in the street had to stop and make a fuss of pup. He is still so tiny and completely unafraid, despite not knowing where we were, what we were doing it was apparently all lovely. He is completely mullered now. Fast asleep in front of the range and cowering if anyone shows him his lead.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £10,020.92 out of £6000 after September
