Sorry I usually lurk but had to laugh when noticed the chat about Escape to the Chateau as have it on in the background. I am only a week or so into watching it. Lots of annual leave to take before end of July and not much to do means I am working my way through all the episodes. Busy_Mee said:
Spookily I have been introduced to Escape to the Chateau in the last week and I am hooked. I was also wondering how they were all doing in the crisis.
At first I was really annoyed with Angel's faffing while !!!!!! did all the hard work but she gradually grew on me through the programme. They seem so happy but it is tellyland and there is ne'er a cross word with the kids !
Hope you get your foot sorted soon Suffolk_Lass. Around here the NHS podiatry clinics are slowly opening back up, one was back last week and the one near me is hoping for Friday so hopefully same will be happening near you soon.

Hope your foot's a bit better today, SL.As far as cross words on Chateau are concerned - there's a fair bit of stomping off sometimes
by the adults. I've heard the odd bit of boundary setting with the kids recently, but mostly they lavish them with praise and give them every opportunity to take part, which is lovely

Thanks for chipping in @ChasingSunshine, I felt the same way about Angela but she's a clever girl, willing to tackle many things and willing to try - very imaginative. I think I remember his wife from his first family (she is quite famous in her own right) but she is happily married/partnered so any prejudices I felt have long gone. Angel is very Estuary English in her style and manner and has definitely grown on me. I know there are about two episodes I missed but every time I see it on, I see the same episodes!
Does anyone else get that? I get the same bit of Michael Palin on a train, and Michale Portillo, or George Clarke - it really is bizarre how I can join at precisely the same point and see exactly the same bit.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

- that has cheered me this morning!
I have been out and picked a punnet of raspberries, and one each of dwarf french beans (half green, half purple)and peas, a courgette, a handful of sungold tomatoes (from the patio) and half a dozen strawberries and a punnet of blackcurrants. I'm going to have a go at homemade blackcurrant cordial but it is piddling down again.

We are within touching distance of finishing the van bathroom. I am so relieved. Just a bit of cork floor tiling to finish, and a warm-air vent to refit then the refresh toilet pack (seat and cartridge) will finish the job. Just in time to go to a campsite we have been booked into since January! Just a long weekend but hey ho, easy enough to maintain social distance I hope - they are doing double pitches and there are four parties (total of six people) in our group - they usually give us the corner of a field.
We might do some main habitation area floor work next! It has got rather spongy with DH constantly to-ing and fro-ing. I've got the stuff. We will check how deep to drill when I am in the garage (storage compartment under the bed) replacing the warm-air vent in the bathroom wall, as the floor levels are different and I should be able to check the depth of the sandwich. One of the you-tubby vids I watched showed someone who drilled right through and the liquid reinforcement stuff was pouring out underneath. I'm hoping we can learn from his mistake.
I need to check lists (love a list) and remove unnecessary stuff. We might even give it a clean!. Oh yes, I need to tax it too!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

It absolutely is, isn't it - and it means your trip away will be a good one! That's a great way to go away, especially now, you're still in your own clean environment. Hope you've got some outside chairs so you can all sit together
